Let us know after you find a copy of the book please Elise. We need to keep the group Bookshelf up to date. :o)
Hey--if the recipes are any good--let us know that too please. I do love those books that include good recipes.

Jup. Highly recommended, and timeframe seems to fit:
well, first published in German 1960 per Goodreads, the listed english translation 1968.
Parts of the story are based on true events, the spy is real.
It Can't Always Be Caviar

Oh, my bad, that is the same book, published under a different title.
Well, ok, just let me say, when I read it first, it was the Hardcover from my parents and I so wanted to read it again, I bought the used paperback 2010 and then the ebook last year.
Still on my TBR, but if you manage German (still in print and now also as an ebook) or can find a translation for a reasonable price - Caviar is listed for Us$ 274, Monte Christo Cover Up starts at Us$ 24 - I have fond memories of it, and highly recommend it and promise to read it again sometime.
Just for the people following this, even if the OP might not see it.
