Having had such a great experience with Goodreads already, I thought it would make sense to deepen my ties, and this forum looks like an excellent place to do that. Like plenty of other novels, The Purpose Of A Man doesn’t fit snugly into any one genre. Rather it straddles any number of them, up to and including Lad Lit, Chick Lit, Contemporary Adult Romance, Comic Novel, Gritty Northern Drama, and even Literary Fiction at certain moments (even now, I haven’t quite put those high-falutin’ pretensions to bed). But to get a really good sense of the book you need look no further than Goodreads itself, and those members who have kindly reviewed the novel to date:
