ABC Challenge help help--abc/first names--"Q"

geez, i am already starting to stress about finding a good "q" book. i am doing low octane/first names for the simple reason that i was reading an "a" and "b" first name when i decided to join the challenge.

i need a "q". also, any suggestions for some of less common letters. "x", maybe?

Actually, I searched for Quentin by author name, and Xavier and Xiao and got a few options. Haven't read any of them but is a possibility for you :)

I am reading an autobiography of/by Quincy Jones for my Q book. It is called Q: The Autobiography of Quincy Jones. It is coming up next on my list as I am on my P book right now. :)

i may read that, cherie. the only other thing i can find is a vampire-y type series, and that's not my thing. i also find a book called The Wrong Kind of Muslim( ) by qasim rashid that looks interesting. i am just starting on p, so i have a bit of time to choose.

how did you do that? i am having a hard time searching by first name.

I just clicked the filter by author radio button, and typed them in. I searched the whole names, not the letter. For Quentin I had to get through all the Roald Dahl books with Quentin Blake as an illustrator.

Not a perfect system, and especially as I find Goodreads search function the worst search function I have ever had the misfortune to use (really? you won't find The Garden of Evening Mists when I type garden of evening mist? I didn't realise not having an s is so confusing and illogical your computer can't make the leap with the 99% of the information! BAH!), but worked a little

There are a few female authors with the first name Queenie. Again, not ever read any of them, but there's a few that look interesting.

Yeah, there are not a lot of authors out there whose first name starts with a Q. I had a hard enough time just finding a book title that sarted with a Q - that I wanted to read.

I did a Google search for "names beginning with Q" and it came up with 45 names.

I ran a GR search by author for Quinn and Quentin.
Here a few names that came up. Quinn Taylor Evans, Quinn Fawcett, Quentin Blake, Quentin Carter, Quentin Tarantino, Quentin Reynolds

You might find somethin to read from one of them. :) Hope this helps you, Lurk42.
