Can anyone help me find a story that my son remembers reading as a kid? He says it's about a group of historic characters (including the Mad Monk Rasputin) who go adventuring along with their "familiar" animals, one of which is a snake. I've had no luck googling this description. Readers????

if not-just FYI, there is a group on GR specifically to help people find books they can't remember the titles of...I bet they can help ya.
