This is touted as "The First Jewish Cookbook Published in America." It was published in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1871. It is a must have for Jewish Cookbook Collectors and historical cookbook collectors. I enjoyed reading the recipes, although I don't think I will be making more than one or two of them. I also question the book's kasherus as it is quite different that mine. Also, I am sure this book is meant for the wealthy. I'm sure most people could not afford to eat like this! Think feasts, not the simple meals we are accustomed to. Very interesting read though.
