The Game Changer
question
Is it just me?

I don't get it. Jack Carter is the antithesis of my ideal guy.
Exhibit A- He cheated
Exhibit B- He left his girlfriend- the supposed love of his life- to be with the "other woman"
Exhibit C- He marries "other woman", while still in love with girlfriend
Exhibit D- gets marriage annulled and waits 6 MONTHS to apologize to girlfriend
Exhibit E- his actions and almost all of his inner dialogue revolve around HIM- he is selfish
Exhibit F- he is a freakin hypocrite
... I can go all the way to Exhibit Z if need be.
Really people- what are his redeeming qualities?

I actually thought he was worried about her esp considering how he was pushing his female fans away because he was concerned about how Cassie would feel. I think Cassie was the selfish one in this book. She didn't want to tell him what was going on, but then she'd be a bitch to him because of it and still not tell him. And she left him because she couldn't handle the lack of privacy and people thinking badly of her? Really?! Ignore it! I know that's easier said than done, but honestly, who cares what complete strangers think of you because none of them know you or the truth of your relationship. And who doesn't know that if you're dating a major league baseball star in NYC, you're going to be in the tabloids and get heckled? I agree with Jack though that she needed someone with her for security purposes, and she was even being a bitch about that, which makes no sense because she was scared and felt helpless, yet she yelled at him because she didn't need a babysitter. That wasn't what he was saying. Got I really hate women who act like she did in this book!
I get that he should have called her to apologize and told her everything earlier, but I agree that it was better for him to wait until he had the psycho Chrystle annulment/divorce issue resolved to actually try to get back together with Cassie. If I was Cassie and he would have come back with all the drama still hanging on, I would have told him there's no way he could focus on fixing our relationship, playing baseball, and trying to get an annulment from his psycho ex. So I think he finally did the right thing by Cassie.

I would never be able to trust him again, no matter what he says or does to try and prove he would never do it again, he can't even say that for 100% because he did it in the first place and being drunk is not an excuse, unless he vows to never drink again while he's on his own which lets face it; is just plain crazy.
I guess if he never cheated in the first place he'd have a lot of redeeming qualities but then again he wouldn't need them.
Cheating's a touchy subject I guess, especially when he went mad when she 'kissed' someone else and then asked her to prove that she's sorry - I mean she took your sorry ass back when you did a hell of a lot worse.
Sorry, rant over.
Cheating a deal breaker for me.
