HELP FINDING A BOOK~ [s]

It's been hurting my head the past few days trying to remember the title/author of a book i once read. here's what i do remember, though:

- the cover art is a side profile of a girls face and she's blowing on one of those dandelions. and the colors are like pink and purples.

- the girls mother had been in a mental hospital.. so she lived with her grandmother, i think, but eventually had to leave town to move with her aunt.

- oh, and this girl could see like a glowing line around people who were going to die rather soon.

- like, i remember, she was walking down the street or something and she saw a guy talking on his phone; then he began like glowing or whatever and he got hit by a bus or something.

- apparently the power to see the glowing thing has something to do with mythology, but i don't remember how.

- uhm, when she leaves town she enrolls to take a psychology course in a college and she ends up hooking up with her professor (i'm sure of it...). they got into an argument, i think it was about what they would do if they had the ability to see when people were going to die soon, if they would use it to save them...

- one night while at his apartment or something i think she gets the balls to finally tell him that she has that supernatural ability and he doesn't believe her; so to prove it they went out for the day and on the train they followed someone who had the glow and that person had jumped off of a roof and then the professor believed her.

- i know that they're a second book to it; and that the cover is blue, but i never got to read it.


i hope that was enough info for someone here to hopefully figure it out.
