Hi, Linsey! It can be any type of book your heart desires. :)

message 552: by Linsey (new)

Linsey For the readathon starting next week, can you read any type of books? Or can you only read young adult books. Thanks for answering my questions, I really appreciate it.

message 553: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 729 comments Linsey, Jacquelyn answered that question in the previous post. You can read anything you want. :)

message 554: by Linsey (new)

Linsey Thanks for answering my questions. Sorry for posting my questions twice. I didn't know that you replied back until I figured out on here that you can search through the newest questions first on top of this discussion board.

Linsey I just thought of a another question for readathon coming up. If the book is a second book in a series how do you know how much points to put down?

message 558: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 729 comments That should count as a sequel, Linsey.

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Linsey wrote: "I just thought of a another question for readathon coming up. If the book is a second book in a series how do you know how much points to put down?"

Since it's a sequel, you would get 4 points plus the points for your page count of the book.

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Do audio books count?

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments How do we officially determine whether a book is a prequel? Are all the "books" labeled 2.5 or .04 considered a prequel?

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Vicki wrote: "How do we officially determine whether a book is a prequel? Are all the "books" labeled 2.5 or .04 considered a prequel?"

Yes, that's what I consider prequels! If you're not sure about a specific book, just ask. :)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Ha ha! You're so cute! You already KNOW I will! AND I'm sure you remember that my past postings are indicative of confusion/misunderstanding/stupidity (on MY part)!!! So, I know you and Trisha and Gis will check on me. And I love you all for it and for keeping me on my toes! LOL

Thanks, Jacque!

BTW I hope you are enjoying your new Kindle!

Linsey Hey Everyone,

How do you add books to your post? Someone told me on here how to do it, but when I tried to add the books to my post it just listed a bunch of numbers and the name of the book.

When you click on add book/author if you want the cover you have to go to the bottom and click cover as it automatically chooses link.

I don't understand what he problem is then. What books are you trying to add?

message 576: by Linsey (last edited Aug 08, 2015 08:35PM) (new)

Linsey I was trying to add divergent by Suzanne Collins because that is the book I am going to read next.

You mean Divergent by Veronica Roth?

And this edition? Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth

message 578: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) O.O! I think I might have found your problem! Have you hit post after 'posting' your book? Because the cover won't turn up until you hit 'post'.

Nope! It starts at 12 AM EST on August 10th.

It says differently on the sign-ups, so that's why I was confused
It said that "Central Time: Starts at 11 PM on August 8th"

message 585: by Tashy (last edited Aug 09, 2015 10:36AM) (new)

Tashy Jones | 821 comments I'm confused as well, it said for me to start 4am on the 9th, which was 14 hours ago. Were we not all starting at the same time, no matter what the time was where we are?

message 586: by Vicki (last edited Aug 09, 2015 10:44AM) (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Book Kitty, we all start at the same moment (if you will). The times are off, I believe, but it's just a mistake. I'm sure the mods will fix it.

I live in PST, so I will start Aug. 9 at 9:00. If you live in EST you'd also start on August 9 at midnight (approaching Aug. 10). So in my time zone I'll start at 9:00 tonight and EST people will start at midnight (3 hours later than me), but in essence we will be starting together. So it's almost 11:00 AM here. I'll be starting in about 10 hours (and 15 minutes). Does that make sense?

If that's not right, Jacque will correct me. LOL

message 587: by Tashy (new)

Tashy Jones | 821 comments So two 4am starts in a row for me, better make sure I have some coffee in!

message 588: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Haha! Yes! Coffee and maybe some crunchy snacks! I can't stay up all night because I get up at 6:00 to go to work. But I have stayed up until 4:00 for marathons on work nights before. Lol But tomorrow is only my students' 3rd day back to school, so I'll probably not stay up past 2:00, if that.

message 589: by Tashy (new)

Tashy Jones | 821 comments Hopefully I'll have as good a start on take two, and in the meantime I read a lot today, can't really complain about that

message 590: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Happy reading! Good luck to you and me and everyone else! Lol

I got confused too cause on the sign up sheet it was having people start on the 8th/9th but really we are starting on the 9th/10th

message 592: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Oof! Sorry, guys. Yeah, I think we mixed up the dates. So sorry if it messed anyone up but the sign up thread has been updated and corrected!

message 593: by [deleted user] (new)

All good. My niece was over last night and I was unable to read so I was going to start now until I noticed you said it started tonight. So now it's a nap and dinner and than reading.

message 594: by Erin (new)

Erin (eisawesome) Okay, I am reading a book and I just finished it and put it on my list. Does it count that I was reading it before the read-a-thon started

message 595: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments What do we do for BINGO?

message 596: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) Could we possibly have a temporary reading sprint thread for us read-a-thoner's?

message 597: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Great idea, but I think they've both gone to bed.

We could use the chat thread for now if enough people see this. I have to go to bed soon though so hopefully people gather quickly.
