Why borrowing an e-book from the library does not work out

I finally figured out how to borrow e-books from my local library. Which is dangerous.
1.I have added even more to my " to read " virtual shelf. (never mind the piles of proper books I have stacked in my bedroom yet to open )
2. I borrowed the above mentioned book only to find out that I had to finish it in 7 days. (which I normally could do, but now I have pressure and family, a job etc)
3. I found it challenging to read because of how the pages presented themselves on my handy NOOK. And I missed the last sentence of each page, it was not there.
4. After the 7 days elapsed and I got the brain to wrap around the visual oddities, the book disappeared.Poof it was gone. AND the story was finally picking up....
It is suddenly not available to e-borrow and I am on "The List". So I guess I will have to take myself to the library (a whole 10 minute drive) and see if I can get the proper copy to read and even if I have it past the due date, I can ignore the emails and letters telling me so and keep reading it!!

Hey Jennifer, I'm reading your post a little late, but if by chance you did not make it to the library or are still looking for a hard copy to read of The Cold Commands, just let me know. I'd be glad to let you borrow my book.
