****How you can help the group******

Do you get sent a statement saying how much you get from our purchases or do you have to claim it?

So am I right in thinking that if I want to buy something for say £50 I could buy myself a £50 gift voucher, using the tag, so that we get a percentage of that and then if I used that voucher to pay for something that was £50, using the tag, we'd get it again. Am I being silly or have I found a loophole to get more money?

You should, but I've not tried it.

I think that might be the case. I can't be sure because it doesn't tell me who is buying stuff and how, but when a voucher goes through (once in a while) it does us a power of good!
Porto was very nice. Hot. Lots of Port. Hilly.

Glad you had a good time Simon.

Can someone please tell me at what stage you're meant to add the tag?

If you've already clicked on a link with the tag in it the tag will remain automatically until you click a link with somebody elses tage.

Also I've just bought a book. I added the tag to the URL on the book page before I pressed the one click button. Again I didn't refresh the page.
I bet I've buggered it up somewhere lol.

that is what I hoped would happen.

I've got to do my big order soon or it won't arrive in time for us to get home.
Good question about p&p. I doubt it but Simon would be the one to answer that.

And diagrammes. The claymation really did it for me though.
Gawd I miss Harryhausen.

Don't we all?

I've been teaching short people who were born in 2009 all week!
What's truly shocking is that they frequently have more deeply meaningful insights than people who have inhabited this planet ten times longer.

I've done all my Christmas shopping but there's always something new to be had...I'd like a pressure cooker.
I use a slow-cooker but staying at a friend's house the other week she cooked a casserole in her pressure cooker, as delicious and tender as slow cooker but only took just over an hour. That's why I'd like one :-)

If you see a & in your link just add &tag=ethings-21 at the end.
You don't get discount but all the money goes to

I use the tag all the time when I buy something.
Also can I ask something? If I buy from Amazon going through the RNLI site they get 5% of your purchase price. Does that cancel out our tag though or will both benefit?

You should warn people that were nutzzzztho...."
I've been looking at a few other GR groups recently, but the people in them seem to be - disappointingly - rather normal.

and this one. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
There are various threads about various topics, some more serious than others. I think this post is (supposed to be) about using the affiliate links, gaining the group some Amazon pennies to use for advertising, giveways and what have you.

&tag=ethings-21
almost certainly only works if there's already a ? in the url.
What I mean is that urls are structured like this:
myurl.com?a=1&b=2&c=3
where the first parameter (a=1) is denoted with a ? and every parameter after that (b=2, c=3) is joined on with a &.
Thus, you could be losing commissions on every url without a ? already in it.
Unless anybody contradicts me, you might earn more money if you edit the initial post to say
'add &tag=ethings-21 to any link with a question mark in it, or ?tag=ethings-21 to a link without'
You have no idea how lost I can get in the interweb when I search for stuff. :(
