Can I Get the Podcast on my Android?

I listen to S&L faithfully. I also have a few other podcasts that I subscribe to. Is there any way I can subscribe to S&L and other podcasts on my Galaxy S4? I just got it yesterday after a long debate with myself about whether to get it or an iPhone. It works great with audiobooks via the Audible app, but I can't find a way to get the podcasts I subscribe to through iTunes.

You'll need an Android podcatcher. I use AntennaPod (https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...).

Look for and add the rss feeds from the podcasts you listen to. Here's the link for S&L's: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheSwordA...

Been using Podkicker myself. Simple, but works.
I only follow 3 podcasts, so maybe that is why.

I simply use the download link at the bottom of the podcast posts.

Although I find natively the android wants to stream it as a podcast, and I want to save it as an mp3.

So I tend to download it on my PC then transfer it over to play. That way I can pause it and listen to it in parts if necessary (ex: before/after work)

BeyondPod (both free and pay version) can be used to download or stream the podcast, and a bunch of other podcasts.

I'm using Stitcher and that can pull in the S&L podcast.

Pocketcast lets you subscribe and automatically downloads new episodes. Love that app!

I haven't found an Android podcast app that's anything like as good as the iOS software on my old ipod touch, alas. Still, I use the free version of Podkicker. It finds Sword and Laser easily enough, and is easy to use. A few minor hiccups, but overall does the job.

My iPod touch always has issues with podcasts, for months the photo for S&L was Katy Perry on a pink cloud. I still haven't figured that one out. The most recent podcast didn't even want to show up, I had to unsubscribe and resubscribe to get it to update. I don' typically listen on my Android since I don't want to waste battery.

I also use Podkicker for all my podcasts including S&L, except one that seems to have some issues. I use OneCast for that one.

I invested in Doggcatcher a couple of years ago and still use it daily. It doesn't look and feel like an iOS but since it is Android with a different design philosophy, it really shouldn't. Many people like Pocketcasts but I still prefer Doggcatcher, maybe its psychological since I paid money.

I second pocketcasts. Been using it for a couple years. Only problem is that their playlists won't integrate with zombies, run.

I don't know much about downloading free software, I am pretty rubbish with finding stuff lol. I have the galaxy ace 2. I assume your PC can see your Galaxy S4. if not download and install kies from the Samsung website to get the drivers.

Next this is what I do.
No.1 Download the podcasts using ITunes.
No.2 Open up windows media player. Media player will automatically update its library and you will see your podcast appear. (left side of screen click music, all your music and podcast will be there)
No.3 Only after Media player has opened, connect your Galaxy S4, in the top right corner under the three tabs Play, Burn, and Sync click on next device to select either your phone or the storage card in it (my storage card is a micro sd).
No.4 Drag and drop your podcast/music into the long vertical column on the right hand side of the screen, once all you want it dragged and dropped, click on the sync button just below the Play tab. and you are done, once it has sync everything across.
No.5 Plug in earphone and listen to your podcast etc etc on your Galaxy S4.

Its a faf I know, but that is what I do. lol.

I second the vote for BeyondPod. I have the free version but it's well worth paying for and then I think you can download more than one episode at a time, among other enhancements.

I wanted to respond to Saranar's comment, though. If you have a phone with WiFi or data enabled, there's no reason to connect the device to your computer and drag and drop. I used to do this with my old Sansa mp3 player and I didn't mind it but now that I have a smartphone, I just download through WiFi and it's SO much more convenient. I'm sure most of the podcast apps folks have mentioned in this thread will work that way. No reason to use iTunes. Podcast apps will work with RSS and most can search and find the feed if you just type in Sword and Laser.

Thanks everyone. I'm using Podkicker right now. It's working great, but it needs a widget that would allow me to pause quickly.
