Billy Buttons (billybobbuttons) | 16 comments Hi,

My name is Edward Trayer (pen name, Billy Bob Buttons)and I'm a reasonably successful independent author. Over the last few years I have entered a number of awards and have been pretty successful. But what I did discover was that most of them are only really interested in my cash and selling me stickers! So, I set up my own awards: The Wishing Shelf Independent Book Awards. www.thewsa.co.uk. It is super-cheap to enter, everybody gets the feedback from the judging plus a review on Amazon and Goodreads and, best of all, I won't try and sell you stickers. If you get 5 mins, check out our website.

All the best.

Edward

Thanks for the feedback. I designed it myself and, yes, webpage design is not a talent of mine. I do hope to have the webpage professionally designed in the next year or so. If it keeps growing. Will let you know.

Cheers.

Edward

Stuart Gregory | 6 comments We would only charge about £300 plus vat if your are interested. The main thing is tho to get it going is SEO (search engine optimization) and getting your robot text files and sitemaps correct. If you fail to do so you can see your website drop down and never be found. also make sure you validate it against the W3C or search engines can start rejecting your site.

Poor rankings means no customers

Jason Clark | 13 comments Billy,
I'm one of those stinking Americans, and just starting to dabble in the literary arts. Can I still be considered for entering my book in the Wishing Shelf Independent Awards? My book is adult fiction, perhaps a little bit of religious controversy, but overall pretty clean. My website is www.sbpra.com/bobmilton . Of course, I would have to figure out how to send the check or money order or whatever in pounds instead of American dollars, but should be able to do it.

Thanks,

Jason (my pen name is Bob Milton. Jason Clark is an exceedingly common name, and it's fun to step outside of myself)

Hi Jason. I checked out your website and I must say your book looks interesting. Different anyway! I showed the blurb to one of the readers here in Stockholm and he'd love to have a read. So, yes, do enter. If you wish, simply send a pdf of the book to thewishingshelfawards@gmx.com. This will save you postage and we can print it out this end. Regarding payment, simply pay our PayPal account: thewishingshelfawards@gmx.com $48. Any problems, let me know. EDWARD
