willaful I came across this book: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/63...

I've googled and checked WorldCat, and can't find any evidence that this book exists outside of a two-novel collection called Windfall. Should it have this separate entry?

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 359 comments Hard to say if it wasn't published somewhere as a stand-alone.

I see that the other story by JoAnn Ross says "reprinted here for the first time ever."

She's a GR Author, maybe she can be asked if Isabel Sharpe was published before as a standalone.

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 359 comments I don't think the book url on the Windfall page is allowed (http://www.fictiondb.com/author/isabe...). It goes to a place to buy the book. Should go to the author pages.

Isabel Sharpe: http://www.isabelsharpe.com/backlist....
JoAnn Ross: http://www.joannross.com

Empress (the_empress) http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/windf...

this is the link from the authors page. Is it possible that the name is just wrong?

lafon حمزة نوفل (lafon) | 3544 comments The only thing I can see as being re-published is, Isabel Sharpe JoAnn Ross had a book titled "Without Precedent" that was later released as "Windfall". That's about it though.

ETA: I was actually looking at Ms. Ross' page.

Edit: I probably shouldn't try and think before I eat breakfast. Considering that the publish date and details for this edition and "Windfall" is identical, I think that they should be merged.

That is what I was thinking. It seems like the same book, but I am a bit disoriented as well. Prefer not to do/suggest anything

willaful Why was the author changed to JoAnn Ross? The story "Without a Net" was written by Isabel Sharpe. What's in question is whether it should have its own entry, since it doesn't seem to exist outside the collection.

Sorry I forgot to revert. I was very confused by what is happening. Change it back, please.

willaful I'm finding it really weird that this was given a description and a publication date when we haven't had a ruling of whether it should actually be an entry yet. However.

Koenraad (koenraadkelemen) | 6993 comments I believe lafon indicated in msg 5 what he thought should be done with it (merge with Windfall). I agree with his opinion and for the same reasons: we cannot find any prove it was ever published otherwise and the publish date and details for this edition and "Windfall" is identical.

willaful But Windfall is a collection of two books. This is only one half of that collection. We only merge identical collections.

The only reason the publication date and details for this are the same as Windfall is because someone here added them. It had no details in its original form. The author's name wasn't even spelled right.

It's pretty obvious that this entry came from someone who only read the second book in the collection and wanted it to have a separate entry. Which may be fine, but I'm still waiting for someone with authority to answer that question.

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments If there is no identical then we merge into the closest option which as lafon points out is windfall

Edit: done
