Am a new reader of Joann Ross, and so far none of her books have disappointed. This one is about a middle age women,Jessica O'Neal with three kids who has been dumped by her ex-politician husband. She is the daughter of a judge, and a designer mother. She has always felt out of place. She has no fashion sense, and has worked really hard for her new independence. Then enter Quinn Masterson successful well know lawyer. They are opposing counsel in a messy divorce case.
Quinn finds Jessica just what he has been looking for. He set's out to win her hand in marriage
while she has no plans to every marry again. Let the game begin. Quinn will need the help of her parents, kids and love and it still may not be enough.. A great 2nd chance story. Twist and turns you will not see coming. Give it a try you're going to love it.
The 2nd story in this book I had a harder time with, it is by Isabel Sharpe an author I have never read.
it is the story of a carefree, fun loving big kid guy Arch Williams and a shy, lonely down on her luck
Amanda Marcus and her daughter. You will fall in love with Arch after the first page. If you've been around guys(husband, kids, grandkids) at all he is one of the best. While I had a really hard time with Amanda.
Ya she has been hurt, when young and had to raise her daughter all by herself. But a lot of women
now days do and don't become a wimp. She doesn't stand up for her self to anyone, her mother
her father, or her clients. It seems she had lots of idea's but keeps them all to herself and thinks
them but never acts on them. It takes a good part of the story for her true character to show up.
By then I just want to scream at her to grown up, stand up , yell do something !!! ( am way to strong and independent for women like her) if you can keep reading the story turns out
much better in the last half then the first...

This book was touching and good for rainy days or cuddling up. I liked all the characters and the situations. These were written well and made me feel. I was stressed, aggravated, sad, and smiled too. I liked both the endings, as they were good HEAs. I would read this again, but it's wouldn't be a go-to book. There wasn't any suspense, but more the family and self-discovery feelings, which tend to make me introspective. Sometimes I like that feeling and sometimes I don't. Pretty good book all together. Enjoy
