If you could recommend a book to King what would it be?

I'd recommend GOOD MORNING MIDNIGHT, by Jean Rhys. It's as fine a psychological novel as any I've ever read.

If I could recommend a book to Stephen King, I would tell him about my own book The Animal. The man would probably be more interested in my second novel that I am working on, since it is horror. But any chance to let one of my biggest influences know that his writing took a part in me becoming a writer, there would be no hesitation.

Actually he reads all genres and seems to lean toward dramatic fiction these days.

Hi everyone, saw this thread and couldn't resist adding my two cents' worth.

To King, and all King fans, I recommend one of the best books I've read in recent years: The Pilo Family Circus by Will Elliot. The story is very King-ish in its style. It won the ABC Fiction Prize a few years ago, as well as a few others, I think. Seriously, this is an excellent and very creepy read!
