Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) Level: Love Potion #9 - Listen to 9 books;
Option 1: All from 1 genre
Completed: 9/9

CONTEMPORARY
1.Down London Road by Samantha Young ~ Narrated by Elle Newlands
Book:★★★★★ Narrator:★★★★☆ Finished: 05.07.13
Experience: B ~ The narrator was good, spoke in a Scottish dialect which was great for this book, as it was set in Edinburgh. The only niggle, I have is that, I could have read the book quicker has I chosen the Kindle edition.

2.Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines ~ Narrated by Jennifer Bronstein
Book:★★★★☆ Narrator:★★☆☆☆ Finished: 09.07.13
Experience: C ~ Let me clarify there wasn't actually much wrong with the Narrator, more to do with me and her Southern accent....kept thinking I was reading listening to 'The Sookie Stackhouse' collection rather that this. The Narrator has exactly the same accent and I kept loosing track of the story!

3.Falling Into You by Jasinda Wilder ~ Narrated by Gabriel Vaughan and Piper Goodeve
Book:★★★★☆ Narrator:★★★☆☆ Finished:17.07.13
Experience: C ~ Piper Goodeve was great a nice clear voice and sounded just like I imagined that character to....however Gabriel Vaughan disappointed me his voice was far too old for the character he was potraying and I have to admit it really put me off the book which was quite moving in places.

4.The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
~Narrated by:Jessica Almasy
Book:★★★★☆ Narrator:★★★★☆ Finished:17.07.13
Experience: B ~ To be honest could have read the book or listen via audiobook, chose the audio version as I had it on in my car. Narrators voice was great and totally fit the teenage character.

5.Dare You To by Katie McGarry
~Narrated by Brittany Pressley, Christopher Gebauer
Book:★★★☆☆ Narrator:★★★☆☆ Finished:28.07.13
Experience: B ~ To be honest could have read the book or listen via audiobook, chose the audio version as I had it on in my car. Narrators voices both fine easy to listen to and matched both characters.

6.Release Me by J Kenner
~Narrated by Sofia Willingham
Book:★★★★★ Narrator:★★★★★ Finished:30.07.13
Experience: B ~ Loved this book and the narrator, I think I would have enjoyed reading it also but listening to it made the characters feelings come to life for me and gave me more of a connection to her.

7.Own The Wind by Kristen Ashley
~Narrated by Angela Starling
Book:★★★☆☆ Narrator:★★★☆☆ Finished:04.08.13
Experience: B ~ Thought the narrator fitted the book well, spoke very clearly and was easy to listen to.

8.Ten Big Ones by Janet Evanovich
~Narrated by Lorelei King
Book:★★★★★ Narrator:★★★★★ Finished:13.08.13
Experience: A ~ God I love these books, they never fail to have me laughing out loud throught. Lorelei King is fabulous, she does accents for each character bring them to life and makes the audiobooks for me just brilliant, definitely better than reading the book!!

9.Finger Lickin' Fifteen by Janet Evanovich
~Narrated by Lorelei King
Book:★★★★★ Narrator:★★★★★ Finished:08.09.13
Experience: A ~ God I love these books, As you can see I am not on number 16 of the series and I am still not bored. The author manages to keep the stories extremely funny and interesting and as I said pervious the narrator is such a talented lady she makes these books go to another level! Amazing!!

Gosh, I hope I don't take weeks. Last Gabaldon book, I finished in a week and a half so I'm hoping to get this one done in a few days - maybe? I will also likely try to plow through the rest of the Outlander series to clear out half my unread Audible audiobooks. heh

Did he like the audiobooks? I think I recalled listening to a sample and wasn't impressed enough to put them in my wishlist, but it's been a while ago. I stopped short in the middle of the third book years ago but am thinking of picking up the series again.

I guess he did. He wants to listen to them again... I heard bits and pieces of them and they seemed okay as far as narration went. *shrug* I have never had a desire to read the books (or watch the series)

Book: 3.5; Narrator: 3.5. Experience: B+. There were times when I thought the narrator was excellent, and other times when I disagreed and/or disliked her take on a scene/word/phrase. I still prefer reading the book but the audio sometimes did add to the story.

2. "Shoggoth's Old Peculiar" by Neil Gaiman, narrated by Neil Gaiman: New author/narrator - 7/21/13.
Book: 2.5 - 3; Narrator - 2.5 - 3. Experience: B. It was read by the author, and that always has a certain charm. The author is not a bad narrator, but his stories are so odd that even in print, I have difficulty following what is going on; it was harder in audio. I didn't particularly like this story nor dislike it. It was just...odd.
