I did not know they were making The Book Thief into a movie and I'm not sure I like the idea! I might give it a miss in case it spoils the book for me!

I'm not sure that I could stomach reading Never Let Me Go...I was a mess by the end of the movie!

Isn't it fascinating that we can all have such different views on the books we read?
I feel a bit lost now that I didn't get the whole emotional experience from this book that most other people obviously did but then I just think that we are all different and are always going to have different views on these things. In general I usually read books that have a bit more action going on so that's probably why this one really wasn't for me.

I am still waiting for the library to get the books in for me. I have 3 on hold. I have World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, Sphere and Warm Bodies. Being that its mid-July already I will have to hope they come next week. I think the only one with that there will be the biggest hold up will be world war Z.

I finished my pick Get Shorty by Elmore Leonard. The structure of it was pretty interesting, although I think I would have liked it more with a bit more of a typical narrative. I gave it 3 stars anyway!

What a fantastic choice. Great book and wonderful Australian movie; both leave you guessing. My copy is so well-thumbed, it's practically tattered.
I think Lindsay wrote something to reveal the 'secret' to be published after her death but I've never read it; it would ruin the mystery.

I hoped to get two book/movies in Phrynne, Zorba was already my choice for book club and it followed on to go for two Quinn book/movies. I found MacLean at the library - large print! Ha, will read it without my glasses. It came down to random luck, when I look over the movies list he starred in there are plenty of other choices so I just might carry on and dig out some other golden oldies.

Just finished by David Nicholls ★★★★★ I really enjoyed this one, not as many tissues required as but still managed to tear up a bit! I didn't realise there was a movie of this until I looked up my local library website so I can include this one in this challenge as well as the one I intended to read.

I'm about 75% through Cloud Atlas, and although it's been slow-going, I'm really enjoying it very much. This weekend I've been sorely tempted to get hold of the movie, but I'm going to exercise my willpower muscle and wait until I've finished reading the novel.

I'm finding it slow going too Andrea, I think I'm about a third of the way through. I find it hard to get in to when the stories keep changing so often. Just when I get in to one, it ends!

The structure of the movie is different to the book, but it works well. I wasn't disappointed, and my husband said he enjoyed the movie (he hasn't read the book).

I just finished reading Mary Poppins to my daughter and have to say I prefer the movie version!

Finished Catching Fire for this challenge. Gave it 3 stars. Look forward to seeing the movie now and to reading the third in the series.

I'm almost 400 pages into Atlas Shrugged and enjoying it.
At 1100 pages it's a long read (and its small type as well!) but now I'm home my other reading glasses help lots (not graduated!).

Purportedly - Woody Allen said if he had his life to live over he would do it all again except watch The Magus. Lets hope that in this case the book is better than the movie!

I finished The World According to Garp again. damn I love that book. The movie stars the irrepressible Robin Williams, John Lithgow and Glenn Close.
Both movie and book from the 1980's but worth watching/reading. I suggest reading the book first.

Read the book when it first came out and saw the movie on its first showing - could be classed as favourites although I haven't reread the book!

Good to meet someone else who likes The World According to Garp. Quite a few of my friends hated it. (???) I have to ask myself!
