Ah! I found the book... Of all things "Hot Box" by Zane..... I was way off it was staring me in the face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can tell you the book centered around African-American Character who gets jilted at the alter by her football fiancee - several years later he returns to town - eager to show she'd moved on, she begins to date a homeless man!!!in order for her to attend the biggest ball of the year (something like that) Think; Extreme make over,,,I picked it up last summer - life took over and I'm now wanting to pick it up again. I believe I lost it or its been mis-placed I can't remember the title.. I thought it was one of the Trisha Thomas "Nappily series,, but I don't think so....Help... Sncerely A.Coward
