Leaders of the House of Representatives are fast-tracking an extreme bill that would ban abortion after 20 weeks. It has a very narrow exception only for reported cases of sexual assault, even though they know that most of these cases are not reported. The exception is so limited a majority of sexual assault survivors will be excluded.
Besides creating an irrational and harmful system to decide which women can have an abortion, this extreme bill still would ban abortion in cases where the woman's health is at risk or when there is a severe fetal anomaly, as well as the majority of sexual assault cases. These restrictions ignore the circumstances a real woman may face when deciding whether or not to continue a pregnancy.
Tell your Representative to oppose this dangerous and unconstitutional abortion ban.
