I had the same reaction after reading A Raisin in the Sun and August Wilson's Fences!!

When reading more than one book at a time - for me it is usually a fiction book and a non-fiction.
I find it difficult to read more than one book at a time if the storylines have similar themes/subject matter.

I stopped reading two books at one time because it means that I can't finish library books unless they're very short. It also takes me too long to finish books on my Kindle. This is unfair to the authors and publishers who've requested reviews. So now I'm alternating between library books and Kindle.
I'm currently reading a library book Underground Airlines which is a horrifying alternate history dystopia where four states still have slavery in the 21st century.

I have a hold on Underground Airlines, it seems to be a very popular book at my library. lol

It's a popular book at my library too, Lulu. It took me a long time to get it and I won't be able to renew it.

I've seen the movie. I wonder how much different it is from the play.

You should read plays! lol

Carmaletta, I have a shelf of "less than 165 pages" - feel free to browse it. I agree with the play suggestion. Poetry is good, too. Graphic novels. Some short works you may enjoy:
Another Brooklyn
The Visit by Friedrich Dürrenmatt
The Illest: A Novella by Ran Walker
Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel
John Lewis' graphic novels: March: Book One, March: Book Two, and March: Book Three

I've just begun Adult Onset by the awesome writer Ann-Marie MacDonald. She wrote Fall on Your Knees.
And I'm also reading A Book of Luminous Things: An International Anthology of Poetry by Czesław Miłosz. And I've decided it's time to re-read Aion by the psychologist C.G. Jung. And I want to read How to Live: A Life of Montaigne in One Question and Twenty Attempts at An Answer to see whether or not I agree with Montaigne.
All the best of the season, to everyone. And the best for 2017, too.
