In my opinion he's a better writer than Dan Brown.

100% agree about James Rollins! I will have to give Brad Meltzer a try.

I agree with you both of these author's are great. I like Dennis Lehane and Lee Child as well. Not as much history with Child, but still a lot of action.

I agree with all of you on Lee Child, Brad Meltzer and James Rollins. Loved all of their books. Sometimes it's a little difficult to keep track of all the characters, but they are all great reads, in my opinion.

I loved this book! I am an historical mystery fan as well as anything Tudor so this was an awesome blend of the two. Does anyone know other books with an english mix as this one was?

Its hard to compare other authors to Steve Berry. he uses the 80-20 rule of fiction and fact and does explain in author notes after the story. I checked a good source when he released Templar Legacy. Much better than brown on mason/Templar facts. I like the way he blends fact and fiction to perfection.

If you like Steve Berry and James Rollins, try also criminals by Philipp Vandenberg. Some say he was first with this 'brown' stuff mixing fiction and fact. On one of polish edition of his book there is even an inscription by Stern that says "German Dan Brown" :-)

You can also try novels from Raymond Khoury. Templar series or singles (Sign/Sanctuary)
