Playing WoW atm. I have tried RIFT, Warhammer Online and Star Wars MMOs. Diablo 3 as a borderline MMO. And a few others as Portal and original Starcraft as other games. And that's me for now.

How do you guys decide if to read or play WoW in your free time?

But I must say, when things like the new xpac comes out in November, or even the pre-expansion patch next week, reading will take a back seat for a little while. It would be a good time to come back, beginning of expansions always are.
On the gaming note, we'll be heading to PAX Aus again this year in Melbourne at the end of October. Should be fun! Nothing like a weekend of board games and video games with thousands of other people with the same interests!

I almost wish I hadn't seen this! :) I'm a former WoW player, and I was aware of the expansion pack in November, and toying with getting it, but not until December because I'll be attempting to write 50,000 words of a novel next month and I can't see any way WoW would fit into that plan. Yet I'm intrigued to have my own WoW castle, so it may be hard to wait until December.

My routine for the day is to work till 4:00, listen to audiobook for a couple of hours, supper, Goodreads, and then GW2, bed with a book. But, I haven't played the game for about a week. I think I will get bored of this game faster than WoW.

Sharon, if you are doing NaMoRiMo (or whatever the acronym actually is), the xpac will still be there and new in Dec if you wish to play. It will eat up your Nov so I say wait.

I am a Final Fantasy chick, but should say was...haven't gotten back into gaming for at least 3 or 4 yrs...I just play a lame app sometimes....oh but I remember those days where 4 hrs of playing would go by so fast!
I have seen WoW played, but never played it myself. Just afraid that all family members, chores and work would be neglected! Better not start :-)

So, point taken, I should stop whinging :P
My partner and brother love FF Melissa. I can't stand the sound of it. My brother used to play it full ball at our Dad's place as kids. And he would do nothing else besides play it on the playstation all weekend. And the TV was in the lounge room with the other tv. So I couldn't escape the sound of it ever. Lexx knows now it's the perfect way to piss me right off hehe

I started out playing a DOS game called Castle. You had to type in words like /up, /down, and to kill a monster you hit x (I think). That was back in the 80's. From there it was Final Fantasy, Zelda, Dungeon & Dragons Forgotten Realms, Diablo, and a host of others I've forgotten. I was always afraid to do the MMRPG's until my son introduced me to WoW. Many days were lost.
My daughter-in-law's brother met a girl from Australia playing WoW. They are now married and living in Adelaide.
