I love books I recommend The Pact for your second book and then I can recommend no others.

Stephanie I have read all of her novels except the last one. I love the way she writes and I also love the fact that she sometimes chooses hard subjects to read about.

Nancy I've just recently finished Lone Wolf and thought it was fantastic.

Tatyana Pinto Stephanie I agree completely

Stephanie Honestly I cannot think of a book of hers that I did not enjoy. I started with My Sisters Keeper and then I just went done the list of everything she had written,

Cheyenne My Sister's Keeper and Nineteen Minutes are the best that I have read by her so far. I read the Tenth Circle and Storyteller as well, but did not like them as much, although the Storyteller was well written despite the difficult subject.

Nancy There has only been one Jodi Picoult book that I didn't care for at all.

Stephanie Which one was that ?

Stephanie I also have to say that I just joined Goodreads today and I am so happy to have found it. Sharing thoughts on books such as these is such a gift...

Nancy It was the one where the man killed his wife as a mercy killing, I'm not sure of the title. I hated that book, just wasn't up to her usual type of writing.

Debby Gordon I really liked "House Rules". It's about an autistic teenager accused of murder, and his mother's struggle to protect him. It's enlightening about the way the autistic mind perceives things.

Stephanie Plain Truth would be my choice. I have always been fascinated by the Amish . This book is set in one of their communities and I found the whole story really gripping.

Jayne-Marie Barker Salem Falls is my favourite. The Pact is also very gripping. Enjoy!

Nancy I think The Pact was the first book I read by Picoult, followed by Plain Truth and my Sister's Keeper. All excellent.

Beckie Vanishing Act

Stephanie You can't really pick a bad one as far as I am concerned....

Deborah I loved Picoult's book, KEEPING FAITH. Especially if you're into the religious aspects of her novels. But this is one of my very favorite's anyway. It's about a young girl who doesn't know anything about religion, but when her parents' marriage is falling apart, she begins showing signs of stigmata, and is able to quote scripture. Aside from MY SISTER'S KEEPER, this is one of my favorites.

Stefani Rosenow Many of her books are great, but I'll refer you to the first I read that caused me to read everyone after..."The Pact"...I also just finished "The Storyteller" and it was great too..."Salem Falls" and "Plain Truth" too...they all are interesting and great in their own ways...I'm not a big a fan of her first few books...something about a whale and maybe harvesting a heart...but other then that, they've been great...

Dena I can't get enough...read 'em all!

Sarah ALL...OF...THEM!!!!! :-)

Stephanie If you like her style as mentioned there really is not a bad choice to be had. How nice for you if you have many ahead to read...Enjoy

Lynn Daniel Everyone will have their own idea which of her books is best, but I prefer Perfect Match, Mercy, Keeping Faith, Sing you Home, the 10th Circle, and Picture Perfect, even though it is a very difficult and personal subject for me. I recommend you try a couple and see what clicks with you. Good Luck and Happy Reading!

Reggie House Rules is enjoyable, and it is somewhat similar to My Sister's Keeper except that the normal sibling-needy sibling rivalry is between brothers. The mother's struggles with her sons in the book also make you think about why we seem to notice so many more Autism/Asperger's children today than say 50 years ago. Not a big fan of those who want to opt out of childhood vaccinations for fear of Autism, but until the scientific community can provide a definitive explanation for Autism many people will continue to blame vaccinations.

Maggie I have read them all and you can't go wrong picking one. Might I also suggest "Sea Glass" by Anita Shreve is one of my favorites also.

Donna Davis To me, this writer either hits or misses. But I really thought Vanishing Acts was well plotted and seamlessly (or almost) carried off (if you'll pardon the pun...you'll see). One of her better efforts.

Alyssa Walter I have read all of here books and think they are all fantastic! I particularly like Vanishing Acts and Nineteen Minutes.

Courtney You really must read 'Plain Truth' you have not read Jodi Picoult's best until you have read this! :-)

Stephanie Thanks for the Anita Shreve tip. If you enjoyed Sea Glass ,there was a prequel to that one called Fortune Rocks. I have loved so many of her books and that was a great one also...

Janet Kathleen wrote: "PERFECT MATCH was great as was The Pact and nineteen minutes"

Yes, Perfect Match, was my first of her books. I think one of, if not the, best!

Rachael I have read many of her books, i really recommend At second glance or my sisters keeper

Maaike Nineteen Minutes
It's perfect!

message 82: by Jayne (new)

Jayne Burnett Have read them all apart from Sing Me Home - just could not relate to this story - so did no finish book which is rare 4 me. I aven't read the Storyteller as yet but after reading some of these comments will definitely add to my reading list

Sunsette The only book I've ever read by Piccoult was My Sister's Keeper, but it was fantastic & I highly recommend it.

Katie I thought House Rules and Sing Me Home were excellent. I enjoy most of her novels but a few were pretty bad. Unlike others who commented here, I found Picture Perfect not to my liking at all.

Sharon I think "Nineteen Minutes" is a brilliant novel. It gives the reader a glimpse into a possible reason for the horrific shootings at schools. It's an emotional read but well worth the effort. Shawes@cox.net

Esmeralda Plangesis The Tenth Circle-reading this one now.

Millie Nineteen Minutes is by far one of my favorite books in general!

Sharon Hi Esmeralda, I don't know The Tenth Circle at all. Can you tell me a little about it/ Thanks, Sharon

Maria Nineteen Minutes, The Pact, Change of Heart, Salem Falls

Sharron Lone Wolf and Storyteller are two of her best. They are not affliction of the month books!

Joi I loved Nineteen Minutes. I have yet to read The Storyteller, but I'll get to it eventually.

Donna Davis She is really sort of hit or miss, as far as I am concerned. I would look at which titles have high numbers of readers and still get high star scores. If that doesn't work for some reason, I'd go with most recent copyright, since she seems to me to have grown as a writer.

Dotty Wright I have read and enjoyed all of her books. She is not to be read if you want to be in a happy carefree mood, but she handles all her subject matter in ways that make you think about any ideas you had on the matter previously. Excellent author!

message 95: by Keri (new) - rated it 5 stars

Keri The first book I read by Jodi Picoult was My Sister's Keeper. I loved it, I was in tears in the end. Since then I have read the Pact and I'am currently reading Nineteen Minutes. I really liked The Pact and I am enjoying Nineteen Minutes.

BooksAsDreams (Tiffany) Vicki wrote: "I recommend The Pact or Nineteen Minutes. I have not read all of her tomes, but these were excellent."

Nineteen Minutes for sure!

I plan on reading listening to the audiobook again - SOON!!

Kayleigh The Storyteller and Perfect Match are my absolute favorites!!! Although The Storyteller is her newest, nothing tops it, honestly. Anything you read by her is pretty guaranteed, in my opinion. She's an amazing author!

message 99: by Joi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Joi I agree with Claire. 19 Minutes and Change of Heart are great. I also recommend Keeping Faith. I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEEEE Jodi Picoult.

message 100: by Cindy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cindy Nineteen Minutes, Between the Lines, The Storyteller. All by one author but very different from one another. She's definitely not "cookie cutter" in her topics or how she handles them. I have several titles yet to read and am looking forward to each of them.
