Who wouldve guessed the King had a mean streak?

When it was described in the book about the damages to Maxon's back i was kind of disturbed. I surely wouldnt want a hyprocital king running my country, but hey he probably wasnt the first. Just wanted other opinions

i'm not surprised at all by that actually. i think that we all kind of figured that there was a reason for how maxon was and his mother was a commoner and quite nice. i just wonder how much control he's going to have in The One and how much the people of the country really care of him.

I didn't think he was really nice, but I was surprised he was a complete freaking asshole.
