Lindsey Lauber | 1 comments Hello all I've been very interested in the steampunk genre for a while now and would like to
start reading some. Any suggestions on a book for starting out with?

Scott Westerfield's Leviathon trilogy is good if you want something that is a "fun" read, and is a good starter series. Otherwise, my personal favorite is Neal Shusterman's "Diamond Age".

Margaret Foxe | 1 comments Hello. If you like a little romance in your steampunk, try the quintessential steampunk romance, The Iron Duke, by Meljean Brooks. It's really good. Also, Bec McMaster has a great steampunky romance series out, the first book called Kiss of Steel, I believe.

Linsela | 1 comments I agree the Leviathan series is a fun read. The action is rapid and dialog unweighted.

I also like the Ruby-Red series, although that's not exactly 'steampunk'.

The "Hungry City" and "Fever Crumb" series by Philip Reeve is a fun & very steam-punkish.

The "Soulless" series by Gail Carriger is well done, and also the "Airborn / Matt Cruse" series is nice. Not sure "Ship Breaker' by Paolo Bacigalupi is actually steampunk, but I liked this as well.
