Lisa (lisamparkin) | 4 comments I love finding out what are the absolute BEST books people have read during the year. We're almost at the halfway point (ugh) in 2013, so tell me what made the top of your list?

For me - even though it was written in 2012 - it was The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Amazing, emotional and authentic. LOVED it!

Nina (flowerintheprecipice) | 11 comments Yes! Let's see, top 5 in no particular order so far. All publish this year of course, wouldn't be fair if it wasn't that way.

The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa Awesome, awesome book two of the Blood of Eden trilogy by Julie Kagawa. She gutted me with this book.

The 5th Wave (The Fifth Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey Quite the book, Yancey killed me and now I am anxiously waiting for the sequel next year.

Fragments (Partials, #2) by Dan Wells And improvement on a series that sounded like it could wilt and turn bad.

Quintana of Charyn (Lumatere Chronicles, #3) by Melina Marchetta released last year in Australia but finally published this year in North America, awesome last book to this trilogy. I cried a lot.

Prodigy (Legend, #2) by Marie Lu Marie Lu improve on her last book and gave us one darn cliffhanger at the end.

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 374 comments So hard and I have had some great reads but mostly series. , Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare the third book of the trilogy has to be the one single book. Right now Cinda Chima Williams' Seven Realms series is blowing me away and I am nearly through with the third book.

Somehow I haven't heard of the Seven Realms series! I'll have to check that out! Thanks, Terry!

S.S. (ssrice) | 75 comments Thanks for these recommends, Nina . I haven't read ANY of them, but will get on it!

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 374 comments Lisa, I just finished the third book of the Seven Realms series last night and am looking at a weekend of reading the fourth one. Each book was even better than the one before! It has moved to an all time favorite series for me.

message 8: by S.S. (new)

S.S. (ssrice) | 75 comments Terry, I really liked the other books in the series, but CLOCKWORK PRINCESS was harder to get through for me. I wondered if someone else ghost writer had written it. Still liked it.

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 374 comments It was my favorite of the series and I thought it was definitely Cassandra Clare at her best. No one else writes like she does where I SEE not only the people but the surroundings and effects. I was THERE when Will placed that dagger into the ground and there when Tessa changed during the last battle.... I did cry more in this book but I felt more too. Until this one I didn't like this series as well as TMI.

S.S. (ssrice) | 75 comments I like the way CC writes! Funny, i liked this time period better than TMI. Can't wait until the movie, though. It appears true to the books.

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 374 comments Not going to the movie. Will not allow the casting to ruin my mental images of the characters. And I know from past experience it happens.

message 12: by Lesilee (new)

Lesilee I have to agree with the 5th Wave and Prodigy. Both exceeded my expectations and I would definitely read them again!

Trina | 1 comments Clockwork Princess!!! I love The Infernal Devices trilogy, I think these are Cassandra Clare's best yet. I get completely lost when reading these & recently bought them on audiobook to listen to when i'm doing my cleaning :) but i'm also looking forward to the 3rd book of the Divergent trilogy out later this year

The Hunger Games was definitely awesome! Definitely was a book worth getting hyped up about

My favourites from what I've read so far in 2013 have been the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1) by Richelle Mead The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2) by Richelle Mead The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3) by Richelle Mead and The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin The Evolution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #2) by Michelle Hodkin

☯Raquel☮ (raq-steady) | 1 comments I've only read 7 this year so there is not alot to choose from! TOP 3,

The Eternity Cure Hands down one of the best books I've read, EVER!

Clockwork Princess I wouldn't quite call this a "great" book, but it did have an awesome ending to a series I really enjoyed!

Out of the Easy Another book I enjoyed this year...

Kelsey (mrskschmidt) | 1 comments I agree with many choices already! I'd say my top two I've read this year are The Fault in Our Stars and Quintana of Charyn.

The Lumatere Chronicles, of which Quintana is a part of, is unbelievable. It got me reading more by author Melina Marchetta, so my runners up for books I've loved this year are Saving Francesca and The Piper's Son (though both were not written this year). I recently read Prodigy and The Fifth Wave, and was entertained, but not wowed, by both.

Heidi Melina is my hero! On the Jellicoe Road is my favorite of hers. I just re-read it last week :)
