Me too! ;)

I once had the opportunity to do a phone interview with Shanower for a podcast I used to be involved with. It was supposed to be about a half hour, but we ended up taking for over 3 hours. I'd kept asking if he had time for one last question and we'd talk for another 20 minutes and I'd ask again for one last question. We had a great conversation. Once all the silliness got edited out I think it came in at 2 and a half hours.
It turns out I'd been 'following' his work since his first professional work and I didn't even know it. ;)
His retelling of the Trojan War begins with Age of Bronze Volume 1: A Thousand Ships. Sadly it hasn't been finished yet, supposedly 7 or 8 volumes, but he's gotten critical and academic accolades for the 4 volumes already completed. I highly Rickommend them.

Nancy | 2838 comments I haven't read it yet, Rick. I was thrilled to find it on the remainder table for only $1.99 shortly after reading an article by the author in Out magazine.

I read it in one evening if I remember correctly. I couldn't sleep and picked it up and couldn't put it down. I don't read fast, but it was really good. And it's not a long book either.

Do you think it would be good to nominate as a future group read?

Maybe, it does have some potentially distressing moments dealing with family interactions and domestic troubles. But yeah.
