Diane L I finished my book for this The Other Side of the Door: A Novel of Suspense early in the morning on the 18th. I'll go through my TBR and see if I have anything to match 'side' or 'door.'

Jane | 206 comments Found another book by writing words in search my Kindle ( I "buy" so many books that I have no clue what is there)

My next book for the chain game will be Dorothy The Darker Side of Oz by Scott Stanford Dorothy: The Darker Side of Oz by Scott Stanford

The link is for paperback edition when I start reading it I will add a Kindle edition as there is none just now.

message 103: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Oh, now Barb can claim the Wonderful Wizard of Oz which she is reading hehe

message 104: by Barb (last edited Aug 19, 2013 11:02AM) (new)

Barb Actually, yes I can! LOL Thanks :)

So, my next book will be The Wonderful Wizard of Oz :) If anyone hasn't read it yet, I highly recommend it. It's soooooo different from the movie!

message 105: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) Damnit! I thought that that might allow me to read Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West as I was sure 'Oz' was in the title, but alas, no :(

message 106: by Barb (new)

Barb Don't you hate that? Sorry, Nicole!

message 107: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) You could still match "THE" and "OF" hehe

message 108: by Barb (new)

Barb Oh ... duh ... yes she could *sigh* I think I need to take something for this headache and crawl into bed as soon as my laundry is done!

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 240 comments Thanks Steven and Barb for doing those slider puzzles. I just don't get them...

message 110: by Barb (new)

Barb I don't always either LOL

message 111: by Karla (new)

Karla I'd like to play, but I have the next 22 books planned out so I can finish other challenges. I'll keep checking back to see if they'll fit in.

message 112: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) *grins* Me too, Karla. Maybe not *exactly* 22 books, but I always have a couple of months projected reading in mind ;)

Still, there are titles that do keep on jumping the line. But they're books, I kind of accept that's what they do!

message 113: by Karla (new)

Karla I only recently started planning what I was going to read ahead of time, thanks to being addicted to the challenges on GoodReads. I have to plan ahead or I won't complete the challenges.

message 114: by Barb (new)

Barb Just jump in when you can, Karla. That's the nice thing about this game, there's no deadline, and you can jump in -- or out -- whenever you need to :)

message 115: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Yeah, my current books don't really match either, or I would have a spot on the chain right now.

Well, "The Last Olympian" matches with THE, but doesn't leave many other options for anyone else, so I've left it off.

message 116: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) Besides, three pages in, it would be nice to tag some books for titles that include something other than 'the'. ;)

message 117: by Diane L (new)

Diane L Matching 'wizard' from the previous title, I'll read
Wizard: The Life and Times of Nikola Tesla: Biography of a Genius by Marc J. Seifer.

Hopefully it is a long enough title that folks may be able to match a word from it. And I get to read a bio of an amazing genius!

message 118: by Barb (new)

Barb Yay Evana! I'll add it to our chain :)

message 119: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) Evana, that's fantastic! I read biographies all the time, so I'll have no trouble matching this, I reckon. ;)

message 120: by Barb (new)

Barb Nicole wrote: "Besides, three pages in, it would be nice to tag some books for titles that include something other than 'the'. ;)"

Well, on this page we've matched side, Oz and wizard, so I don't think we're doing too bad :)

message 121: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) Certainly not! Go team :D

message 122: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) Wouldn't you know it, of the two biographies I'm reading at the moment, one of them is My Boring-Ass Life: The Uncomfortably Candid Diary of Kevin Smith and Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir.

Neither one of them actually have 'biography' in the title like I thought they did >.<

OH! But the first one shares the word 'Life'. So I'm going to pair it on that.

message 123: by Barb (new)

Barb I'll add it to the list, Nicole :)

My son is a huge Kevin Smith fan and saw him perform in Melbourne a few years ago. I'll have to check if he's read this one. I like his movies too even though some are a little bit cheeky/naughty/rude!

message 125: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) This book hasn't been particularly well publicised, though from what I can tell it came out many years ago now. Originally it would have been up on his blog, if your son happens to read that?

message 126: by Barb (new)

Barb We seem to be stalled, so I'm going to work off the THE in Nicole's book, and maybe someone can find a word in my book to use :)

Thanks for the Memories, by Cecelia Ahern

message 127: by Jane (new)

Jane | 206 comments I have finished Dorothy The Darker Side of Oz by Scott Stanford Dorothy: The Darker Side of Oz by Scott Stanford

Ooh, I'm sure we can find many evocative titles for either 'Thanks' or 'Memories'. I know I've already got one I'm reading with this thread, so I shouldn't be looking for more... >.>

message 129: by Barb (new)

Barb Well, you can look for another book just in case nobody else finds one before you finish the one you're currently reading :)

message 130: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) I have very little that matches... *sigh*

My September reading plan is mostly two-word titles too haha

message 131: by Barb (last edited Aug 27, 2013 09:38AM) (new)

Barb I have several two-word titles on September's list, but I have a lot of titles with funky words -- like Pharaohs, Curse, Enchilada, Cloche, Wasted, Fondue *sigh* My only hope will be the little words LOL

message 132: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) haha, I'm hoping I can add at least *one* book to the chain!

I could claim F is for Fugitive now, but I don't know if anyone could match it as easily as THE! :P

message 133: by Barb (new)

Barb I think I have an "is" on my September list, but I don't know if Wasted would be any easier to match than Fugitive ROFL

message 134: by Jane (new)

Jane | 206 comments I have an "is" I can add to my September books so just go ahead and claim your book Steven. There is no the in my book but I can go on in the chain after that one as well and the next book has a "the".

message 135: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Well then I'll claim my book and barb can claim hers and you can play off the word in hers, since ours are both Sue Grafton and up as _ is for _ as the title!

message 136: by Jane (new)

Jane | 206 comments I will claim as soon as Barb has claimed hers.

message 137: by Barb (new)

Barb I've got to finish my current book first :) So Steven, I'm going to add F is For Fugitive to the chain, so Jane can claim her book :) By then, maybe I'll be ready to claim another spot!

message 138: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Okie dokies!

Guess I'll have to read that first thing this month hehe

message 139: by Barb (new)

Barb Way to force your hand, huh? LOL Sorry! :)

message 140: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Haha yeah... It was on my list anyways so no biggie. It's progress on a series!!!

message 141: by Jane (new)

Jane | 206 comments Right. I will claim my book then.

One Glass is Never Enough by Jane Wenham-Jones

One Glass Is Never Enough by Jane Wenham-Jones

message 142: by Barb (new)

Barb I'll add your book to the list, Jane :)

message 143: by Barb (new)

Barb I finished Thanks for the Memories a few days ago and forgot to post it here. The book was ok, not as good as I'd hoped. I'm confused about the author, though. I've really liked some of her books, but others have been (for me) complete duds. That drives me nuts!

message 144: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) I hate when authors are hit or miss. It seems to me that an occasional dud would be acceptable but they should be overall consistent.

message 145: by Barb (new)

Barb I have two books on tap that have 'is' in their titles, to continue our chain, but I'm not sure any of the other words in those titles will help anyone else, so I'm going to wait and see if anyone has something that will be more chain-friendly :)

message 146: by Jane (last edited Sep 05, 2013 03:55PM) (new)

Jane | 206 comments I finished One Glass Is Never Enough by Jane Wenham-Jones One Glass Is Never Enough by Jane Wenham-Jones.

message 147: by Jane (new)

Jane | 206 comments I will claim another book if that is okay :-)
Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

message 148: by Barb (new)

Barb Sure, Jane :) I'll add it to the chain!

message 149: by Barb (new)

Barb And I've just added Nefertiti: The Book of the Dead to the chain. Sorry, had to go back to matching THE, but maybe someone can match Book or Dead? : )

message 150: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Finished F is for Fugitive...

I can claim Dead and Gone. :). Sookie book 9!

I'll post links tomorrow
