Fodder for the Corner Joint>> mark + Phil's luvsac = <3
Speaking of balls, apparently last night I was all hopped up on Ambien giving my baby sister a lecture/tutorial on the merits and not so hidden meanings of AC/DC's song Big Balls. It does happen to be a particular favorite of mine. But, so they tell me, I just went on and on and on...
It's like drunk dialing on a ruffie, because I totally did not remember it. The mister was listening and at one point came in to ask who on earth I was talking to. I don't remember that either. Between the sister and the mister I pieced together my glory. *bows*
I hope you never need to, dear. Thing is, it doesn't always effect me. I took tonight's dose over an hour ago, not even a yawn...not one thing in this room is presenting itself all distorted and disfigured; reaching for me. Four flat walls, flat ceiling, same old fan....boring!
If I would have been a teen in the 60's I would have had a sock drawer full of shrooms...:P

Anything that is suppose to make me drowsy works the opposite. Nyquil keeps me up all night. Then I feel crazy the next day. Hate that stuff. But I always take it when I first get sick because I hate to be sick and just want it to go away.
Don't give the mister any ideas about filming me for an hour while I go on and on about the ceiling fan and am always amazed that he can't see what I see going on there.

Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold works to kill the cold in the early stages.

Speaking of Ambien, I saw my mother in law doing a lot of Ambien sleep walking in the days before we went to NC.

"Mother's little helper" is riddalin (sp). If you're not ADD it hypes you up and you get loads done without feeling tired...so I've heard.

sometimes talking to you is like talking to a

As I said, you guys in the Corner Joint still come here because things are more interesting when there are all kinds of people interacting. But you've made your choice to be private. So leave this group to people who are more open-minded.
Splinter groups usually have the dignity to be independent of the group they've left. They don't expect to be able to hang around and participate in discussions with the group they've left behind.
But, there ARE all kinds of people in TCJ, Scout! I'm a conservative registered republican Christian...don't you think I skew the demographic you've dreamed up in your head? Sure they're 90-something % liberal democrats. Welcome to good reads!
Not that any of that makes any difference what so ever. Most of us are still in this group as well because we helped RA start it! Check the lists we've been here for YEARS! We started the threads! Most of (if not all of) the mods are in TCJ. The fact that some people left because its easier than dealing with your crap is not a feather in your cap, it is sad and a further sign of your social ineptitude.
Lastly, being a part of more than one group, private and public, is variety. It's fun! It's different. It's perfectly acceptable to everyone else on the planet. Have you noticed that out of all of the TCers who weren't invited to one little private group of friends YOU are the only one whining? Not one other person has come in here and backed you up. Not one. Because no one else CARES!

*laughs hysterically*
Is this your bid to become a moderator? Maybe THE moderator? Watch how fast the membership jumps ship if that happens!
Scout, why don't you just go start your own group that is just exactly the way you want it?

Get some perspective.
1.)GR and all its groups are just hangouts on the internets. Don't take it so seriously. If you find this environment so irritating, maybe it's time to turn of the computer and go read a book.
2.)TC has 1500+ members. It's not all about you.
3.)The fact that some of the members of this group belong to another group has nothing to do with you.
4.) We have all heard your opinions/rants on this topic. Repeating yourself will not influence anyone or win anyone to 'your side'.

Ewwww! I hate it when that happens!
POO-FINGER!

Terminalcoffee is like my local bar. Every time I walk in, I see somebody from the neighborhood I know. I'll chat with them for a few minutes. If I'm alone, I can sit at the bar and chat with strangers or neighbors.
Sometimes I invite friends to join me. Once I even threw myself a birthday party there. There were still strangers there, but I knew a lot of the people in the room. The thing is, I can't talk to all of them at once, even at my own birthday party. Some of them know each other, so they form little groups. My former housemates know each other, so they'll sit at the bar and chat. My bandmates and their significant others might get a table together. Friends from work, ditto.
So there are all my friends, in different groups. They are all having different conversations. As much as I'd like to be in all of them, I can't and I shouldn't. Some of them don't concern me. Some of them don't interest me. My writer friends are playing a board game in the corner, and I kind of want to join them, but they've already started. If I see two friends having an intense discussion, I'm not going to jump into the middle. If I do, they have the right to say "We'll come talk to you later. This is private." Even at my own party, I don't have a right to insert myself into every conversation at every table. It's not exclusionary.

So I play in a band, right? We've been playing together for years. And then I also do solo stuff. Sometimes for the solo stuff, I'll put together a pickup acoustic band. My drummer might play, but I wouldn't ask my guitarist - my best friend, my music partner for fourteen years - to play in my acoustic band. His style isn't appropriate.
My drummer is in four other bands. He was with us before any of them; I actually was the one who suggested he fill in in another band at one point, and started him on his road to musical promiscuity. Sometimes I get a little jealous or annoyed when he turns down show dates with me because he already has something booked with Red Sammy or the Bearcat Boas. I don't begrudge him playing with them, but I can't help being a little paranoid that maybe we're not his first priority right now.
But he has the right to play in multiple bands, and I have the right to hire someone else if I want banjo or mandolin or dobro instead of electric guitar. I don't need to join my drummer's other bands, and it's okay for me to be a little jealous, but ultimately they're not playing my music, so it's not like I have any right to demand that they let me play with them. Hell, if they want to, my bassist and drummer and guitarist can all form a Bieber cover band and play without me. I could never hit those high notes.
I know where to find them when it's time for the Stalking Horses to play, and what they do in the rest of their time has nothing to do with me, and my other projects have nothing to do with them.
Ta da!

I have a friend who is the drummer for several different bands.
Why am I not allowed to tour with them?! Why don't they invite me to hang out?! Why is Little not in the band?! Where are my boots?!
Sorry. Nearly all of that made absolutely no sense.

Ha! No, I have a couple of other reasons too:
1)I don't have any tattoos
2)I'm allergic to the word "baby" repeated more than two times in a row (sorry, Vampire Weekend)
3) I don't look enough like a cute twenty year old girl
4) I'm not a douchebag
5) I can't dance
6) I only play songs that can actually be described as music.
7) I don't have a posse.
8) I left all my eighties clothes in the eighties.
9) I've never owned a trucker cap, even ironically.
Phil's balls? Don't you want the rest of him also? He is quite a nice guy.
