Wow, great discussion! I am taking a break from the series, because I read the first 3 books in 5 months and it was sooooo depressing.

If you keep reading the series, I might lurk for Lies and read Plague with you. I figured based on the title, Plague was going to be really depressing and I needed a break.

If you don't mind, I'm going to interject my thoughts...

Sam (view spoiler)[ I felt really sorry for Sam, I don't know if an adult could do much better with motivating an uninspired group (hide spoiler)]

Albert (view spoiler)[ had great ideas and I think rewards would be much more incentive than do it because Sam says so. Adults get paid to work or I'm sure most would not bother. I wish Albert was more altruistic, but he did cook hamburgers throughout Gone without looking for rewards. (hide spoiler)]

Hunter (view spoiler)[ was an unfortunate accident, but it showed the need for a judicial type system (hide spoiler)]

Zil (view spoiler)[ needs a whipping. But you gotta give it to him that he sees the angles and works them. (hide spoiler)]

Drake (view spoiler)[ is so evil that it scares me! I was so amazed at stringing the wire. What a great evil plan to stop Breeze. I wish Drake and Caine would just kill each other off and maybe Diana would get caught in the crossfire. (hide spoiler)]

Caine (view spoiler)[ is not the brightest to think that turning the power off is a good thing. Couldn't they just hit the switch and bargain to turn it back on? (hide spoiler)]

Just as a side note, I live close to Oakland and Sunnyvale that was mentioned in the book. In fact, my husband grew up in Sunnyvale and his mother still lives there. :o)

it's hard to read all these kids making all these choices that are just awful and trying to remember that "oh, no, it's okay, they're just kids"

I'd like a break from the kids every now and then to know what might be going on in the rest of the world - if indeed it still exists! LOL.

Ok, I finished last night but was too tired to come post!

I gave it 4 Stars, one more than Trisha. But her 3 stars on this was better than what she gave Gone, LOLOLOL!

I have a lot to say but I'm at work and have a huge Migraine so it will have to wait, lol.

And I'm up for #3, Lies as a BR if we can wait til November! If not I'll have to do it on my own later.
