Obviously there are more translations into more languages than I'd want to count, but can some combination of English language editions (and other language editions) be brought about?

Not quite sure what you are asking. Are there certain editions you see that should be combined that aren't current? Those 929 editions are combined already.

Other entries under Cervantes are ones that were split into 2 volumes (where the 2 volumes are kept separate as they are not the same as the whole) and an abridged version that should also not be combined.
