I recently gave up on a book which is something I rarely do, but after 105 pages, I realized I had zero interest in the characters. It was The Sportswriter by Richard Ford. I started reading Body of Evidence by Patricia Cornwell, and have been enjoying that immensely!

Good day to all. I have just started reading "THE BODY KEEPS THE SCORE : Brain, Mind, and Body In The Healing of Trauma"By: Bessel Van Der Kolk, M. D. .. The back sounds very good. I have gone through a lot in my life and this book was suggested by my doctor to read. I'll let you know how it is when I read more.

Forty acres was definitely worth my time. It was a page turner until the last page. I think there might be a sequel.

I also enjoyed it.
I've started The Book of Ebenezer Le Page. It was recommended to me by a new gr friend--about growing up on Guernsey in the early 1900s.
I’m currently reading two books, How to Enjoy A Scandal and The Manhattan Hunt Club. I tried reading Sealed With A Kiss, but it Kept putting me to sleep every time I picked it up.
I’m reading Brown Girl Dreaming (book of poems that reads like a story) and Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self (short stories). I’m enjoying both of them.

I am reading two books: Colliding with Destiny by Sarah Jakes and The Beginners Guide to Intercessory Prayer by Dutch Sheets. Both are excellent thought provoking books helping you to move forward in service to the Lord and forward out of life changing pain. I highly recommend them both.
I forgot to add, I just downloaded a free copy of Christian Fiction titled Stealthy Steps, the first book of the Nanostealth series, by author Vicki Kestell. Ms Kestell is now a retired security design consultant that was part of a team that developed and constructed the fall out shelters across America to house the President and USA government officials as far back as President Dwight D. Eisenhower. She now is writing fiction based on her knowledge of these shelters and systems and it is an exciting mystery, because you don’t know what’s real and what is fiction. The first book is free in Kindle. I am excited to finish what I am reading to begin this series. Check it out. Its free and the ongoing books in this series are reasonably priced. My kind of reading.
I just finished reading "My Awfully Wedded Husband" by Minerva Stewart. This story is about Jocelyn, Mariah, Vanessa and Toni have two things in common. One is their disastrous marriages, well in Toni's case make that her disastrous seven-year engagement. And the second thing is their eternal bond of sisterhood, which they're going to need when their husbands do the unforgivable. A fresh and fun fiction debut for every fan of romantic comedy.I now reading "Exposed: by Naomi Chase.
I finished the excellent book of short stories, A Manual for Cleaning Women by Lucia Berlin, and will be starting Kristin Hannah's Firefly Lane today.
Valerie, I remember FIREFLY LANE well & with a smile! Was astounded to realize that this is the same author as THE NIGHTINGALE. Such a range of talent!!
I am currently reading Don’t Hold Your Breath, A Protagonist’s Poetic Catharsis and The Sangrita Club, both by Amanda Adams
Valerie wrote: "I am currently reading "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck"Thanks for telling me how much you liked Firefly Lane.
I loved The Good Earth! I even read the other two books in the trilogy, and liked them too.
I did not know that THE GOOD EARTH was a trilogy, thank you for letting me know that; I'm certain I will enjoy following these characters.I have not yet read The Nightingale, but it sounds so different from Firefly Lane; looking forward to reading it. Upped it on my TBR!
May wrote: "Valerie, I remember FIREFLY LANE well & with a smile! Was astounded to realize that this is the same author as THE NIGHTINGALE. Such a range of talent!!"I read "The Great Alone" by her first and was blown away. Loved "The Nightingale" but wasn't aware she had written other books.
I'm reading The Erasers - Alain Robbe-Grillet at the moment. Started reading his work (Djinn) for uni and been in love ever since. Also currently read Everyday Sexism - Laura Bates and Eleanor Oliphan is completely fine.
Finished,Faith by Jennifer Haigh. It was a slow read with a strong think after story
