With Ken Burns' "Vietnam War" series stirring up interest the last couple weeks, I'd like to steer some attention to my e-book, "A Lesion of Dissent". https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1.... It delivers a very different vision of what happened back then, one that is rarely explored. Good reading to all!

The Stranger in the Woods - The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit by Michael Finkel.I thought it could be boring by Mr. Finkel writes impressively about a young man that went into the woods for 27 years and had no contact with the outside world.

Finished 'Girl of my Dreams' by Durjoy Datta. 2 Stars.
Since my book is still in the process of being published, I'm continuously reading and rereading it! lol. It should be released this month. I have to say though that each time I read what my sister shared about her unresolved childhood issues it makes me cry everytime.

He Never Deserved MeHello, I am a globetrotting mum who enjoys reading books from many different cultural backgrounds.
My latest favourite is a gripping biography entitled "He never deserved me". It is a novel mindful of cultural values. A sharp and sensitive narration of a woman's fight for independence and love. A story that will touch your heart with the acknowledgement that we all need to believe in ourselves.
I'm reading "The Hate U Give." It's about a teenage girl who is African-American and attends a private school for mostly white upper class kids. She has seen her best friend get shot and that's about all I've read thus far. It's starting out interesting.

Had an opportunity to attend a Literary Festival yesterday in Charlotte, North Carolina and am excited to count myself among the thousands of new authors publishing books today. I had the opportunity to share information about my new book, Conversations with the Little Girl Within, A Journey of Forgiveness, Healing and Liberation from Unresolved Childhood Issues. The reader of this book should walk away thinking about the possiblilty that some experiences from their childhood still impact their adult behaviors today. One woman I spoke with shared her story of being abandoned by her mother at 7 years old. Now in her late fifties she still relives those painful memories whenever she sees, a of all things, a teddy bear. Which her mother left with her before leaving her with a neighbor.
While writing the book my oldest sister shared with me that "while growing up, hearing that I was never going to be more than this or that scarred me; along with the whippings with the ironing cord and being told to get out didn’t nurture me or help me to mature."
This book will help the reader understand that their past does not have to dictate their future and encourages them to take their power back.

We’re Going to Need More Wine- Gabrielle UnionI am loving this book. I’ve always loved Gabrielle as an actress, full of elegance and grace. And I love her even more as a person. She’s been through more than we could ever know and made it out stronger.
