Hi Angela, If you enjoy books with good character development and want to get involved with the story. You may want to check out Spectrum: Book one of the F.O.K Series by Sheila M Sullivan. She shares the story of a group of characters thru laughter, love and life. I am looking forward for Book 2!!!
I have just finished listening to

Reading other books or my other Goodreads group, but want to read it soon!
Hi I am currently reading Pesky Politicians in Las Vegas: A Tiffany Black Mystery. This is number 7 in a 10 book series and I have enjoyed all of the books. There is humor, mystery and her love of cupcakes. An easy and enjoyable read,Mary Ann
I just finished reading Abused by Dolores Sakt. Sad, sad true story. This is not one in the Oprah book club I picked it on my own because the proceeds from the sale of the book go to the victim. It has everything in it, romance, suicide, addiction and erotic. I would recommend it if you're ready for the type of book with explicit sex scenes.
I am reading Abused by Dolores Sakt. Very sad true story. Not part of the Oprah's book club but touched my heart because the proceeds go to the victim in the book.
I am currently reading The Life of Pi for enjoyment and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People for my class in the fall. They are both really good! I decided to read Life of Pi because I watched the movie several years ago and really enjoyed it! Can't wait to finish 7 Habits; it's very insightful!
I am reading Abused by Dolores Sakt. It's not part of Oprah's book club list but its a true story, very sad story of how some women endure abuse by their spouse and how they try to cope. Also the proceeds from the sale go directly to the victim in the book. So I'm reading a very good story and doing a good deed at the same time.
I am currently reading Cometh the Hour, the 6th of 7 in the Clifton Chronicles series by Jeffrey Archer. Very entertaining!I had just finished Back to Brooklyn by Lawrence Kelter, which is the sequel to the hilarious movie, My Cousin Vinny. The book is also very funny, as well as fast-paced - my heart was racing near the end, and it took me a while to catch my breath! I highly recommend it!
Finished The Hate U Give yesterday. It's pertinent and poignant. Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Finished
by Imbolo Mbue-- 4 Stars.I really enjoyed this book about race, class, and immigration in the US. Looking forward to joining in the discussion!

Our book club just read The Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah - it's an excellent book of courage, heartache, and perseverance during the time when Germany occupied France. A must read!https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Books that look at life from an historical point of view is my cup of tea. Love and war along with the courage to overcome all obstacles that stand in the way. These are the ingredients good writers use to create great works.

I love historical romance, fiction and non-fiction.
The Twelve Tribes of Hattie was really good! Another two that I read this year..."
I too love romance, but I dislike boring romance stories. I am on episode 3 of Sean Diddy Combs A Damsel In Distress which is in ebook form on Amazon Kindle. It's quite exciting, and anything but boring. You may find it to your liking.
I am reading, and please don't laugh; two different series by music mogul Sean Diddy Combs, 'A Damsel In Distress' I am on episode 3. I am also reading his 'Thy Evil Side' which happens to have I believe 13 episodes. I am on two. These series aren't for the faint of heart or those easily offended. They definitely take you to another world.
Somehow I subscribed to the Oprah book list and cannot figure out how to unsubscribe. Can someone please help me?
I'm currently reading The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and it's taking me forever to get through. To me it's a heavy read, but i'm enjoying the story line.
I'm reading The Girls by Emma Cline. It's good, and yet, I'm also not sure what to make of it in terms of how good. To be determined!
Hi I am currently reading 'Detroit Lives' It is about Detroit's involvement in major historical events. From the world center of the automobile industry, to becoming the 'Arsenal of Democracy' Later, after WWII becoming America's most unionized city. It was one of the leading cities to give rise to an emerging middle class of black residents.
Hi I'm Smriti. I'm new here. I just finished Gone Girl and now I'm reading "The Code of Woosters" by PG Wodehouse.

I really enjoyed Gone Girl. Did you watch the movie after you finished reading the book? The movie is good.
I am currently reading I Will Teach You To Be Rich
by Ramit Sethi. His vision resonates with me. I love his down to earth practical approach and yet fun and easy going.

Might I recommend , Of Roses and Lily, a wonderful anthology of poems on love and longing, the soul's desires and the subsequent clash with regressive norms of the society. It is a MUST READ! It is available here through Barnes and Noble, as well as Apple iBookstore, and Lulu. HAPPY READING!
I just finished 'The Silver Star' by Jeannette Walls. I had wanted to take out 'The Glass Castle' from the library but it was out when I went there but they had this. I had never read anything by her so I took it out. It was a little slow getting into the story for me but I liked it. Before that, I read Wally Lamb's 'We Are Water'. My all-time favorite book is 'She's Come Undone' by him so I wasn't surprised that I liked this. His books are long but I enjoy that. Usually it means that you really get to know the characters and the story is very indepth. I didn't enjoy 'I Know This Much Is True' but this one was great. I'm going to start 'The Hangman's Daughter' series next.

I thought it had too many Charles Manson similarities.
I'm currently reading the Earthrise series by Daniel Arenson. Outs about earth's rebellion after being attacked and almost exterminated by various species of aliens.
