Hi there! I'm currently reading Small Great Things and loving it! I'm about 3/4 way through now and can't wait to find out how it ends!
Hi everyone. I am currently reading Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour bookstore. I began last night and can't put it down for a minute.
I'd love to recommend to everyone the book I am currently reading, "Ginny Moon" by Benjamin Ludwig. It is a book I can't wait to finish but I don't want it to end. Absolutely brilliant.Ginny Moon
I'm currently readingThe Empath's Survival Guide: Life Strategies for Sensitive People. Helping me to understand the different types of people in the world and how we should all be accepting and not so judgmental of each other. Kindness is key to great relationships.
I would like to recommend the trilogy 'Behind our Lives' by Charlene Carr. The first book is 'Behind Our Lives', Book two is 'What We See' and Book 3 will be out before year end according to the author. These books are thought-provoking and real cliff-hangers. They will make you laugh and cry. A great read!
Alyssa wrote: "Hi guys, I'm new to the group! I am currently reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I love it so far."Yes, I read that and really loved it. The Book Thief has some amazing quotes and I still shiver when I think of the first chapter. The author uses words beautifully.

Winston Graham is a favourite author of mine. I have loved all the books I have read of his. Marney must be out of print and I really loved the old movie but the books have so much more. The Poldark Series is a must read. Enjoy!

HiMy name is Emily Hexio. I'm new to the US, from Portugal. I love reading and recently joined this club, as well as Goodreads.
I've just finished reading "William Lightfoot" by Jon D. Anthony. I saw it on Goodreads during a search for Native American issues.
It's an inspiring book, funny and although it's fiction, it's set up with good knowledge of the politics surrounding indigenous rights and Native American struggles. Without spoiling it, it's safe to say that it centers around a small tribe in Minnesota, and a young professor who returns to the tribe to help out when they are faced with a challenge.
I recommend this book to everyone, even science fiction fans as there is certainly an element of that. I'm not a big science fiction buff, but this book really sneaks up on you that way. I loved it.
I don't know of any other books by this author - I think it must be an independent debut. Five stars for me!
Hello fellow book lovers, I'm new to this group. I typically read/listen (audible) to multiple books simultaneously depending on what I'm in the mood for. My commute to work can be 30-45 minutes depending on traffic which is where audible comes in handy. I finished Everything We Keep The Boy in the SuitcaseDoing It OverStaying For Good7 within the past two weeks and am now actively reading Making It RightStillhouse Lake and Pride and Prejudice I have always loved reading and look forward to getting recommendations on what to add to my to read list!
Welcome Emily,If you enjoy books about Native Americans, you might like the book I just finished Killers of the Flower Moon byDavid Grann. It is an excellent book and it is a true story. I am from Oklahoma so I especially enjoyed this book.

If you would like friend me on Goodreads and we can follow each other.
Judy
Thank you Judy. Yes, I read Grann's book. He's an amazing author and a great periodical writer as well. It was the similarities of the 'resources' of riches that drew me to the Lightfoot book after that. The fictional account tapped into something even more fanciful and modern and looked ahead in contrast to Grann's book where he so brilliantly looked back.
Hi I'm new to this group. I'm reading "The Tennis Partner by Abraham Verghese who wrote one of my favorite books OF ALL TIME "Cutting For Stone". If you haven't read this book please do yourself a favor, make it your next selection!
Hi I'm Cris! I'm currently reading Richard Russo's "Nobody's Fool" and Wendy Walker's "Emma in the Night".
I've just finished Sylvia Plath's "Bell Jar".
I guess this is the summer of catching up on books I missed when they first came out blended with some of the hidden jewels just released.
Hi I'm Devi. I am very new to this group. I am currently reading Miguel Street by noble prize winner V.S. Naipaul. I have a habit of going back to books I read before - so this is my second read. I am loving it as it is set in the Caribbean where I grew up.
Just finished reading Girl on the Train. Enjoyed.
Can anyone recommend any good books set in the Caribbean?
Currently reading "Beneath the Mango Tree" by Rianne Morgan. Great read with a moving storyline- highly recommend.

Hi I am currently reading "The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto" by Mitch Albom. I started last night and find so far it is an easy, enjoyable read-hard to put down.
I am currently reading "The Arrangement" by Sarah Dunn. The brat, Wyatt, is driving me nuts just reading about him and his antics! I'm waiting for something more "juicy."
I just finished reading "The Lies We Believe" by T.K. Chapin. It was unusual, but I am not sure it was believable. I would like to hear what others think specifically of it.
Just finished Al Franken Giant of the Senate. Learned a lot about how government works and loved his sense of humor at the same time. There are serious parts to this book also. Not all is fun and games.
Finished

I read it over 4 days while staying in a very hot apartment in Maryland and it was a delight to be able to escape to the mists and glens of Scotland, and a gripping story, and leave behind the heat.
