message 8171: by Carrie (new)

Carrie R | 4 comments I just finished reading an advance copy of Julie Clark's new book The Ghostwriter that comes out in June. It's about a daughter that is hired to ghostwrite her sick father's last book that is about the murders of his siblings in the 70s. Between hearing different points of view and evidence that keeps being newly found, the book kept me intrigued until the very end. Highly recommend when it releases. I plan to read more of Julie's books.

message 8195: by A.C. (new)

A.C. Sherman | 20 comments Read pages of Sophie Stava's COUNT MY LIES. If the rest of the book is at the same level of writing and storytelling, then the book, IMO, is in the literary sphere of Patrica's Highsmith TALENTED MR. RIPLEY and Martin Goldsmith's DETOUR. But I'll have to wait and see if COUNT MY LIES deserves to be in that glorified company. I can't read when I'm writing, and I can't write when I'm reading. After a very short break, I'm back to writing. When I'm done writing, the first thing I'm going to do is finish reading COUNT MY LIES.

message 8198: by Virginia (new)

Virginia Cannon (virginiabcannon) | 3 comments Just finished Alexis Davis’ Deeply Examined.

message 8199: by InkDreamer (new)

InkDreamer | 4 comments Hello Angela ! Based on your love for historical fiction, I’d recommend "The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah. It's a deeply emotional story set during World War II, following two sisters in Nazi-occupied France. The book beautifully blends history, romance, and the strength of women, which I think you’d really enjoy, especially if you liked The Twelve Tribes of Hattie and The Butterfly House.
