I second Jody's recommendation of India Was One. If you enjoy short stories & are interested in India, Bombay Bhel by Ken Doyle is also excellent!

India Was One is going to be 99 cents according to the author. This would be a good week to buy it. Definitely worth a read.
Does anyone else enjoy the Lindsey Davies stories about the 1st Century Roman detective, Marcus Didius Falco? They have great plots, fantastic historical detail, and terrific characters.
May wrote: "I was not aware of these books. Sound wonderful. I will put them on my To-read list."Hope you enjoy them May, they can be humerous as well! Try and read them roughly in sequence if you can as the characters develop throughout the series, but the odd one out here and there is fine.
I have read The World Without You by Joshua Henkin 4★My review is: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Are they anything like Cadfael, the detective priest in Britain! I don't know why I would think they might be. They're written by Ellis Peters.
Lela wrote: "Annie wrote: "Does anyone else enjoy the Lindsey Davies stories about the 1st Century Roman detective, Marcus Didius Falco? I'm reading Code Name Verity.I just finished a beautiful and heart warming story Small Blessings: A Novel.
I'm reading Raymond and Trudy by Michael Twist. I'm more than halfway finished and I love it! Great characters with interesting, layered development. The story is shaping up nicely, too. It is written as a YA (which I haven't been for a zillion years) but I believe anyone could/would enjoy it!
Currently reading "BLOOD and BEAUTY" by Susan Dunant. It is about the Borgias, and I can't put it down. Staying up way too late reading!!!

I am reading Eat, Pray, Love right now! I can't decide whether to re-read Harry Potter (for the hundredth time) or check out Game of Thrones or Little Bee after this!
I finished Raymond and Trudy - really enjoyed it! Now I'm reading Fourth of July Creek. Maybe 20% into it and can't stop thinking about it today though no time to read!
Salaman Rushdie's Fury. Started a little slow for me, it's picking up now. I'm still waiting for it to grab me, though. And Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.
(continued comment to Danielle)--_Little Bee_ won't take you nearly as long to read as a series, so you can then move on to the next thing!
