I loved Ordinary Grace and This Tender Land is on my TBR list!

message 5256: by Jeron (new)

Jeron | 2 comments I'm reading 'Manchild in the Promised Land' by Claude W. Brown. It's a struggle for me to get through because it seems like an exaggerated account of the fictionalized life of the author, which makes it appear to be unrealistic.

message 5257: by Sally (new)

Sally Abou Ouf (sallyabououf) | 4 comments I just finished reading "Finding Meaning" by David Kessler. A very nice book about moving on. He shares many true stories including his own which adds a lot of credibility to his words.

Now I am reading "Gene Eating" by Dr. Giles Yeo about the human appetite and how it is impacted by our genes as well as the environment. So far it is proving to be an interesting read and quite informative.

message 5290: by May (new)

May (mayzie) | 589 comments Judy, he was running job opportunity ads on several GR threads. I wanted to know why that was allowed. Looks like they have been taken down, now.

message 5291: by H. (new)

H. James (h_melvin_james) | 22 comments I'm asking anyone who has read Volume II of "Tares among the Wheat" if they caught the symbolic metaphor of the wobbly table in the hotel dining room.

message 5292: by Judy (new)

Judy (pacurn80) May, that’s good. I’m new here and noticed there’s just so many people advertising about their new book or looking for reviews and things that don’t even pertain to Oprah’s book club !! Isn’t there any club where people can just talk about what they’re reading without other people advertising?!!

message 5293: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 23 comments I am currently reading 'In The Shade of the Jacaranda' by Nikki Arana and then will read 'A Spark of Fire' by Jodi Picoult. I like Jodi Picoult's books, Maeve Binchy's and Charlene Carr's books. I love most Women's Fiction books, but will often read mystery and suspense too.

message 5299: by J.S. (new)

J.S. Jones | 6 comments Hey, new one here, I'm a writer, screenwriter (ha, poor), reader, lover of books and creating. I made 2 picture books a while ago for my friends and family that had new kids during Christmas time cuz I couldn't figure out what to buy them. Ha!

They're fun rhyming books with facts about 1: Animals and 2: Vroom (this one about cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc)

Would love comments and critiques, don't worry have thick skin, and better from strangers then family and friends that just placate.

https://www.amazon.com/Fletch-Friday-...

And you don't have to buy them, can just read the look inside amazon does if need be.

Appreciate the time and help,

J.S. Jones aka Fletch Friday Dog
