message 5165: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (lesliejean43) | 403 comments I tried reading The Redbreast by Jo Nesbo but had to give it up about halfway through - there were way too many characters, and I wasn't interested in even one of them. I wouldn't have struggled for so long, but a good friend send it to me for Christmas, so I really wanted to like it. The Redbreast (Harry Hole, #3) by Jo Nesbø

Now I'm reading The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood. The contrast between the two books is amazing. Atwood is such an excellent writer! There is humour in this book too, which I love!

It's very well written but I needed to take a few breaks to process what I was reading. It has a wonderful message in the end. 4 Stars because of how graphic it is.

Reading Last Words now before rereading 1000 White women.

Anna | 1 comments Hello there - I'm Anna and although a member of Goodreads for years, this is my first post. I just finished the Dressmaker's Gift and it was very good. No spoilers, but set in WWII Paris and gave great insight into how very strong the women were during that time. It gave me a new appreciation for everything I have in my life.
