I read this book in the early 1970s - a novel about a high school girl who gets involved with a "bad boy" during her senior year. In a high school "slave for a day" auction, he wins the bidding for her and has her wash his car (truck?). They start dating and fall in love. But she is college-bound, and he's destined to be a blue-collar worker. They make love for the first time after going to the senior prom. She has a pregnancy scare before it turns out that her period is late. She has an older brother who attends Yale University. If I remember correctly, the boy's nickname is Truck, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the novel or the author.

This sounds like "A Long Way Home From Troy" by Donia W. Mills which I loved when I read it many years ago.
