What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book)
The Search for Bridey Murphy. Non fiction about past lives discovered while under hypnosis. Had a past life experience and I was recommended this book. So far it is holding my interest.

Sherri wrote: "Have you read it Brenda? and you take drama Jess? I'd pass out on the stage lol"haha of course I do drama! I used to have really bad confidence & public speaking skills, but drama helped improve all that. Plus, its really fun. We have a class of 8, and we weren't all friends at the start of the year, but we're all really tight now and its only been a few months.
There's 20 of them but it only takes like 20 minutes to make one with a loom lol. And sweet Jess! Though I couldn't stomach it xD too much stage fright.I'm thinking of giving The Secret Garden classic another read in the next few days... Anyone else read it?
I saw The Secret Garden movie a long time ago when my daughter was small Sherri, but I haven't read the book!
Wow, 20 minutes is pretty good! But times that by 20 of them....that's ages!!! ;D

It's been a favorite of mine since about 4th year. And those headbands are on hold at the moment because one of our malamutes is loose somewhere and we havent been able to find her for several hours...

I am halfway through "The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet" by David Mitchell and it is FANTASTIC!!! Superb writing, takes you right to 18th century Japan with all its beauty and complexity. (Sorry can't tag, am on the phone but please look up the title!).

Just finished When Colts Ran and whilst I loved his writing style the storyline ( and characters) were so hard to follow. I think this might have worked better as a series of short stories based in one place, like Tim Winton's The Turning: Stories. I only gave it two stars which is a very low rating for me. I nearly gave up on it when I was half way, but managed to persist. However, I have loved other books of his that I have read so I would still read him again.
I'm reading The Giver.Shame it arrived at a time when I'm so busy, but it's a book I've wanted to read for some time.
Have just read Tears in the Jungle (picture book) as a result of watching Australian Story on the ABC two weeks ago. Boy with cerebral palsy and a passion for orangutans now raises money to buy land in Borneo, conserving their habitat. The book pictorially traces his family's journey to Borneo. Inspiring and worth buying as the funds help to conserve these creatures.
The Giver is a great book :) I read that about 6 years ago for school and it became one of the books I always recommend, enjoy!

Just started reading
and it's really good. Very well written, interesting, and informative. Arlene has brought the 1400s and the origins of the Tudor dynasty to life.
The Peter Corris omnibus, unfortunaltey, while each of hte books is good it reminds me why I enjoy him in small doses. Ah I should have chedked the title but it's down in my gym folder in the car.
The Cliff Hardy Omnibus.
The annoying things in his books just become more apparent when I read more than one in a row.
In the last two daus I read Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver and Destined by the Cast ladies....Pandemonium was a great sequel to Delirium and Destined being book 9 in the House of Night series lefy me hanging on...again! lol

Very true KL, never had to use it before but its really my only access to GR :)I just finished 'Red Dress Walking' by WA author S.A. Jones (sorry yet again for no link) and you can my review for it on my page. Definitely the most intense book I've read that deals with identity and relationships and love.
I'm about to start Game of Thrones. I just recently got to see the first season of the HBO TV adaptation and loved it, so I am hoping the books will be even better.
