What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book)

not as good as previous Tempe Brennan novels. If anyone else has read this, I have a question that's bugging me: In chapter 30, Lynn Nolan describes the cap that the tall, thin older man who spoke to Cale was wearing: baseball cap, red with a big number above the brim, a button pinned on the side with a picture of a cowboy hat. Tempe thinks she's seen a hat like that: is this ever resolved? Did she see it somewhere that I didn't notice?

Thanks Brenda. If/when you do read it, let me know if you spot the cap?

I finished

I just finished Capt. Hook: The Adventures of a Notorious Youth. I love new takes on old stories, and this was interesting, but some parts were unexpected. Not really sure if it's suitable for kids, which is what I thought it would be. I just started The Tales of Beedle the Bard, and as an aspiring writer to likes to think big picture and make up a whole world, JK Rowling is definitely an inspiration for me in this respect. Plus the little additions, etc. are cute.

Done Marianne:)

Done Marianne:)
I'm currently reading the 6th Ranger's Apprentice book. I'm really liking this book series. I know it's for teens, probably younger teens, but I like that it doesn't have violence and sex to fall back on, so the story and characters actually have to be good. With the Ender's Game movie now moving forward, I'm planning on reading them next. My sister loved them and I always planned on reading it. Has anyone else?

I think now I just need a super quick, light read. Its been a while since I've read any Roald Dahl, so I'm going to curl up with Fantastic Mr. Fox which is an old favorite :D

They way Karl's mind works truly amazes me. He is hilarious!"
I loved An Idiot Abroad! That guy is too funny!
Really enjoying reading Ender's Game. About half-way through it right now, can't wait to read the rest of it and the whole series. Not sure how the movie will be done though, the ages of the characters and the actors don't really match up. Has anyone else read this series?

Supercontinent by Tom Nield. It's non-fiction and I got to it via a Simon Winchester book: Atlantic , which turned out to be more a fictional account of the people Winchester imagined had traveled across the ocean during it's long human history. My goal was to discover some new information about plate tectonics (geology of shifting continents), since my learning about this stopped in 1969! The Nield book is great and understandable by most people lacking an education in geology. I feel I need to read some of the latest work on Ediacaran fossils which apparently represent creatures that came before the present lines of species, but were mostly dead ends in evolution. The Ediacaran Hills are not far from Adelaide, really, so I might go take a look!

Glad you're enjoying it Iain, it's definitely got good reviews! And definitely much easier to read on the Kindle:)

I've heard good things about it too. Have you ever seen the TV show 'Quantum Leap'? It sounds a bit like that. This book is definitely on my to-read list.
