I'm reading Black-Eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin at the moment. It took me a bit to get into it, but it's got me now!
Today, I'll be starting The House of Special Purpose by John Boyne; title refers to Ipatiev House where the Romanov family were housed in their final days and met their shameful demise.
I'm about to start: Six Degrees by Honey Brown. Sounds very different to her usual books so I hope I enjoy it :)

Completely different Sharon!!!
Completely different Sharon!!!
I have to admit to slumping a little this past week. I was thrilled when An Ember In the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir arrived in the post and I immediately started reading it. I am almost halfway through it and am loving it! Did this book have this effect on anyone else?

I loved the Hunger Games too! I would recommend Panic by Lauren Oliver if you liked it! Have you read that one?

I do live in Tassie but I don't actually live in Dport I just put that up for privacy reasons. I have been there though and I really like it!
Ooo...I will have to read Panic then or atleast put it on my list of books to read...Ohh, it's so cool to see another person from Tassie :D
I'm currently reading Cantella. It an historical family saga set in Australia. It hasn't been published yet. It's quite good but it's no Barbara Hannay..

@Ryan - Ohhh, you already finished the first book too and onto the second? I haven't read so much of Effect just yet.

I've not read any Patrick Gale before. So it's always great to read someone new. I'm about half-way through A Place Called Winter. Am I enjoying it? Not really, but having said that its interesting enough to hold my attention. If I'd known what the subject matter was I never would have purchased the book, but then to say what it is would be an absolute spoiler.
Among other reads I have just picked up The Patterson Girls by Rachael JohnsI am in far enough to know I am going to enjoy the ride :)

Reading The Marriage of Opposites by the brilliant Alice Hoffman. It's the story of the artist Camille Pissaro and his strong and feisty mother Rachel who adored him.Hoffman had a misstep with The Museum of Extraordinary Things, I think. I disliked that book but with The Marriage of Opposites, she appears to be back to her truly wonderful writing.

I thought the writing was compelling.

I have just finished Susan May's Deadly Messengers. I have to find some time to sit down and write a review - and catch up on others. It was extremely intense!!! I don't have any fingernails left. Very good Susan, well done :)

I'm currently half way through The Port Fairy Murders by Robert Gott. And listening to Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty on audio

Check it out....another one!! :D Persuasion by Jane Austen
another new version with a gorgeous cover, there is currently a giveaway on Goodreads for this.Would love to collect these :))
RitaSkeeter wrote: "I'm reading The Secret Son by Jenny Ackland which I won in a giveaway. It only has a rating of 2.8, but it's a really great read so far.I hope the rating doesn't..."
I look forward to seeing your rating as I am saving that book up for the Spring Challenge. I don;t really look at the ratings unless there is a huge number of u
people who have read it and then I take that into account
Just started Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver. It's my second book I've read by her and I have noticed that its really easy to fall into the worlds that she describes. Does anyone else notice this about her writing?
RitaSkeeter wrote: "Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver. I don't think I've ever read any of her books actually. I might go have a sticky beak at what she's written :)"She wrote a book called Panic which was a great book. It is about a group of teenagers who compete to win lots of money ($67000) by doing dangerouse, death-defying tasks. Its really good.
☼♄Jülie wrote: "I'm halfway through A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, and omg it's heartbreaking!!"Me too Julie. I can't read too much at a time...
I'm not sure if I've posted about this or not! I'm a big psychological mystery fan (no serial killers), but I've just got into the second Josie Tucker mystery (Dim Sum, Dead Some: A Josie Tucker Mystery) after I lost it in my Kindle for a couple of weeks :-(. The first in the series The Bride Wore Dead, A Josie Tucker Mystery was a great read - funny with depth - and this one is unfolding in similar style. Josie is a food blogger and on the first page we get a "taste" of her humour: "What is a recipe but a proposition ... a pick-up line?" (less)

I even bought a hard copy to keep and read again sometime :)
