Not the men's version of Eat Pray Love. I actually saw it in a book store. Stupid book.. Sort of like the one titled 'Everything a Man Knows about a Woman'. When you open the book all the pages are blank. ????

Oh, sorry - back on topic - I'm reading The Fuzzy Papers: Little Fuzzy & Fuzzy Sapiens. So far better than I expected after the misery that was Space Viking.

Friday I started reading Elizabeth Norton's historical biography on ANNE OF CLEVES, Henry VIII's (Tudor) fourth wife.I find Anne a fascinating figure, in part due to the fact that there seems to be so little known about her life before England, but as a whole her story is so intriguing, especially considering that she was so well treated by Henry even though it was abundantly clear he was not attracted to her and did not wish to marry her. She was also far more clever than any of her predecessors, which is evident in the way she conducted herself not only prior to her marriage to Henry, but also during it and after it was dissolved.
A really interesting read so far: I expect to have it finished by tomorrow.

There's a recent release YA Steampunk (not romance) called: Worldshaker by Aussie author Richard Harland which is getting great reviews and has been optioned for a film I believe. You might be interested in that one.:)

I loved soulless, I don't mind a bit of romance but I think I over did it last year and was looking for a new avenue.

@Brenda- Have you read the first book by the same author as a Thousand Spendid Suns? I think if you enjoyed that (Kite Runner) you would also enjoy this book. Both different yet both paint very vivid images in your mind. Well worth looking at,i think.

I just received Kite Runner from Sarah with the book swap, and haven't had a chance to read it yet. I'm sure I will because I have been anxious to read both of them for awhile! Thanks Laura..:)

I am Laura W: I am reading The FitzOsborne's in Exile. I have enjoyed these books very much. I enjoy the nuances of character in each of the people in the book.
Wow I'd never heard of steampunk so I googled it thanks Melanie and Mandy. I've put Worldshaker on my to read list. Melanie have you read Brocken by Kelley Armstrong it's got some lovely zombies in it from the time of Jack the ripper but based in the present day.
My son is loving YA steampunk, Leviathan and Mortal Engines. I enjoyed the prequel to the latter, Fever Crumb, after he assured me it stands alone.

Thanks for the tip - I've been hunting out historical biographies lately, and Elizabeth Norton's on my list, as is her Anne of Cleves work. Will definitely be placing another order through TBD!!!
Have started reading The Secret Life of Beeswhich is part of the summer reading challenge and Twilight of Love: Travels with Turgenev which is for the February reading challenge. Both writers appear to be great wordsmiths so far, though have only read about 10 pages of each.

I have just finished "Riding the Black Cockatoo" by John Danalis. An easy read, at times I felt that he was making too much of an issue about the whole white/Aboriginal situation, rather than concentrating on the value of the wonderful return of Mary to his people and country. Can highly recommend this non-fiction book.
I am currently reading Mistaken by Neil Jordan and absolutely loving this novel. Dark and brooding in some places, inevitably Irish. Would love to have a discussion about what the "vampire" is a metaphor for in the novel.

I'm going to have an Irish flavour to one of the upcoming challenges (in honour of St Patrick's Day) so perhaps this book is one for people to look out for. If another person chooses it we'll start a discussion in the 'individual book discussion' thread if you like. It's certainly an intriguing book!

Anne of Cleves is the wife I know least about about and was perhaps the luckiest of the wives of that monster, Henry V111. Laurel
Listening to Peter Temple's Broken Shore, a detective mystery featuring Joe Cashin, middle-aged and scarred by past events. Temple's clipped, telegraphic style works very well for getting across the main action and leaving room for imagination.
I just finished the FitzOsbornes in Exile by Michelle Cooper. I liked it, but it seemed much less focused than the first book - until the end. It felt like the middle book of a trilogy - most of the characters were introduced, minor developments and minor actions, but still waiting for bigger conclusion.
I finsished several small books last night which are hard to find in GR but they are by Michael Farr- Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock.The books are small history look into each of their lives..pretty great for any Tintin fan :D
Im now starting City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. I found it at a second-hand bookstore for $10. In perfect condition! Im really enjoying it so far, but im only 40 pages in...
Read another book by Michael Farr but it was about Professor Calculus..Gotta enter these into GR turns out they haven't been for english edition yet..bit odd.
I picked up this morning and started reading The Secret Lives of Dresses. My eldest son asked if it was related to the book I had just finished ... The Secret Life of Bees ... alas no, but secret lives must be a theme for me at the moment.

I have just finsihed reading Heat Seeker by Lora Leigh, I enjoyed this for the sex but I found the story had too many layers and I had trouble keeping up with it and 52 Waratah Avenue by Lynne Wilding. I really this for the story about a family from Sydney. I am about to start Death Was the Other Woman: A Novel by Linda L. Richards and Dancing with the Devil by Keri Arthur

I just finished The Akhenaten Adventure and haven't decided whether to continue. Have any of you read these Middle Grade books by Philip Kerr?

Well, Maja - you're in luck. I'm a Western Australian, and my book According to Luke is coming out in a few weeks. And my publishers are already nibbling at my next one. Just heard last night. Fingers crossed!

Stuck on City of Glass. Its a fun read, but not great-and certainly doesnt leave me wanting more very time I put it down. Trying to finish is ASAP so I can begin The Last Days or The Forest of Hands and Teeth. For the record, that is my favorite book title. Ever.
