James, this is not the place to promote your book, can you please do that in the authors thread.Cheers

Interested to see what you think Sharon. It definitely is not a comfortable read. Had me squirming a bit.
Rereading The Catcher in the Rye by Salinger. So far it hasn't lost any of its edge. First read it at uni many years ago. Who else returns to the classics?

I'm reading The Burning by Jane Casey. Jane Casey is an Irish author new to me but recommended. The sample hooked me, so even though it was a bit more than I usually like to spend on an ebook, I had no choice if wanted to keep reading. And i did! Of course, it's not as if I don't already have hundreds of unread books on my Kindle. :)

I am currently reading Sea Hearts by Margo Lanagan. I am enjoying the way the story is told from anumber of different perspectives - time, character and point of view.
I finished The Poison Tree by Erin Kelly 3★My review is at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I'm about to start the audiobook of Mad About the Boy
.Unfortunately I am already aware of the major spoiler, but I'm in the mood for something light after finishing The Fault in Our Stars (which I loved)

Finished Rules of Civility by Amor Towles 4★I'm working on a review...
Started Truth Like the Sun by Jim Lynch.
I was halfway through Falling Man when I realised The Bone Season has to be back at the library on Wednesday. So the literary novel will have to wait while I read some speculative dystopian/ science fiction (whichever it may be). Maybe it is fantasy. I find it hard to decide genres.
Old Man's War by John Scalzi - this is a reread, but I wanted to write a review, so I thought I'd refresh myself :)
Michael wrote: "Finished Reconstructing Amelia abit earlier and found it too be a really good read.Review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Good review Michael. Now we're reading the same book. I have an uncorrected proof which is a little distracting due to the errors but so far so good.
I'm reading Omens - not sure how I feel about it so far.. It's not what I was expecting. Has anyone read this series?
I've finished Truth Like the Sun by Jim Lynch 4.5★My review is at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I recently finished & reviewed The Love Song of Jonny Valentine - Really great book about the life of 11 year old Mega popstar.Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Geoff wrote: "Finished The Choir by Joanna Trollope A good read, but I orefer Anthony's Barchester to Joanna's Aldminster. 3.5 stars."
I enjoy both Trollopes. (It's an unfortunate name isn't it?) I think I own most of Joanna's books. There are quite a few of them.

I finished The Bone Season in just two days and since it is quite a big book (450 pages) I guess it shows that I enjoyed it! The reviews are all over the place. Apparently you have to love it or hate it. Well I gave it four stars and plan to read the sequel(s).

Barracuda & Solo: A James Bond Novel
I recently started listening to Stephen King's UR which I'm quite liking so far. I also started reading Darkness First: A McCabe and Savage Thriller which packs a punch right from the start!

I'm having my own 'Booktober'. 20 books so far in 22 days... Not too shoddy. It does help that I am an insomniac and live on 4 hrs sleep per night:)Currently reading Little Children by Tom Perrotta

Wow!! That's great Bette. Well done. Not so great about the insomnia but I agree with Sharon, at least you can read. Soon you'll be giving Brenda a run for her money. Shhhh, don't tell her I said that!!! :)
Elaine wrote: Soon you'll be giving Brenda a run for her money. Shhhh, don't tell her I said that!!! :) "Aren't you lucky she's on holidays, Elaine?! She may not bother trawling through all the old posts!! I admit I was thinking the same about Bette's reading!
So, can you pick up the pace a little, Bette, to get 31 books read in October?!
