What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book)

What a great review, Bette!
I am halfway through Cloudstreet, I enjoy the unusual narrative style but it does force me to slow down in my reading.

Thanks, Dhitri. I hate to say it but much as I love Winton's writing, I just find his books a tad depressing. They leave me feeling 'shut-in' and claustrophobic. But I did love his In the Winter Dark- gripping book. Have you read it?
Hatched: Tim Winton Award Winners 20th Anniversary Collection by Tim WintonReleased this week, this is my final Winter Challenge book. It's a slender book and I'll sit down with it over a coffee this morning.
In the Country of Men by Hisham Matar
I'm attempting to make my way round the world, this is a novel of Libya.

Dhitri, I was planning on reading Cloudstreet next. When you say unusual narrative style...is it complex? I'm not sure if I'm up for something atm, that needs work to understand it
I've finished A Thousand Pardons by Jonathan Dee who has delivered the goods again. My review is at: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I've been reading some Goodreads' author's books lately - Riley Banks, Sean Tretheway, Ange Takats - all good reads.Yesterday I started Bryce Courtney's Jack of Diamonds. Such a shame it is his last book - a great loss but what a legacy he has left behind!

Riley Banks
Jack of Diamonds by Bryce Courtenay
You're right about Bryce Rita, a terrible shame.
Would you mind linking your books/authors too when you post please, as when I tried to link both Sean and Ange nothing came up. It just helps the rest of the group find what you're reading, and maybe adding them to their own TBR lists:) Thanks.

Headhunters by Jo Nesbø - one of my mum's favourites, so thought I'd give him a whirl. Not bad so far, short book though.

I just finished reading
for a review tour which was a really fast moving read but not one I would normally choose.I've almost finished listening to
which I have loved as I am such a huge James Lee Burke fan.I might start reading
tonight if I get time.
I've had to put on hold A Thousand Splendid Suns, I got up to disc 10 of 11 and could not play it anymore...The disc was scratched :/So now I'm listening to Touch & Go and reading The Postman Always Rings Twice

It's terrible. I've reserved the paper copy at the library & all I could do is try and find my place in the book....I was so close to the end :(
I'm on a Neil Gaiman roll. Just finished The Sandman, Vol. 1: Preludes and Nocturnes and am going straight into Stardust

My local library isn't getting any Disc audio books any more, they are all on Download audio...I'll be honest, I don't have a clue how to use it.
Actually I could check other libraries as well.
Your library should be able to be in touch with other libraries who may still have a copy too Mish...good luck with it!
Just started The Son-in-Law by Charity NormanAlready loving it and I've only read a couple of chapters.
Just picked up Mates at Billabong and Captain Jim by Mary Grant Bruce free from Amazon. Time for a trip down memory lane...

Middlesex is fantastic Bette.

I couldn't do that - read so many books in a row by the one author.
I've been known to do that too. My recent one was Melina Marchetta, 3 books in a row. And then there's the series. If I'm really hooked on the first book in the series, I could read the lot, one after the other.
I did that when I discovered Terry Pratchett. I think I read 8 or 9 of them in a row before I felt the need to read something else.

I really enjoyed Middlesex too
I finished Coraline in one sitting (it's a very short book). Starting A Fortunate Life for my August challenge next.
