Book cover - I think I'm getting better at these?

I'm learning more and more how to use Photoshop, and I'm hoping that I'm starting to understand what makes a decent book cover.

So go ahead and tear into it. What do you think of this cover?

The story sounds a bit dark as well as containing romance elements. I'm not sure this cover captures either aspect. Maybe try for a font that says romance and a darken the pyramid a bit?

It's not really that dark, although there are elements of danger and mystery. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll have to think about the romantic font thing.

That's actually not bad.

I'd advise getting rid of the shadow under your name, it doesn't look good on book covers. I don't think it's necessary to include the fact that it's a novella either.
