Combine/Correct Author

I was adding some of my son's books to my shelves this afternoon and ran across this:

Patricia A Pingry (8 books)
Patricia A. Pingry (88 books)

Reasonably sure these are the same author as they both seem to be writing in the same children's book series.

I'm a Goodreads' librarian but I wasn't sure how to handle this... can these two authors be combined? Or should the authors on one of those sets of books be corrected so they all show up under the same author?

The first profile was missing the period after A. I edited it and merged it into the correct one and after combined the books :)
