Jane, I like it a lot... and for panic, after the first chapters (almost 50% there, I'm liking it) One Book in the Grave

The Charlie Chan books by Earl Derr Biggers could be considered cozies in the way Sherlock Holmes might be and they give a great historical atmosphere of Old Hawaii which you might still find in the architecture of the holder hotels.

June is Aquarium Month…
the 18th is Go Fishing Day-
- The Towers of Trebizond by Rose Macaulay (not a mystery) (done 6/13)
June 13 is Sewing Machine Day-
- The Xibalba Murders by Lyn Hamilton (done 6/16)
June 18 is International Panic Day -
- The Beast Must Die by Nicholas Blake (done 6/12)
June 21 is Finally Summer Day- Summer Solstice -
- Last Bus to Woodstock by Colin Dexter (done 6/5)
June 28 is Paul Bunyan Day - In honor of his companion, Babe the Blue Ox, read a book with a blue cover.
- Faceless Killers by Henning Mankell (done 6/15)

Congrats Leslie! What did you think of Faceless Killers? I've been looking for that one since catching the Wallander movies on PBS last summer.

I liked it better than the PBS dramatization, but neither of them is a favorite. I find Wallender a bit too depressed & a tad whiny for my tastes.
Thanks, Leslie. I guess I'll keep checking Half Price Books and the library used book sale and see if it shows up there rather than order it online.

;) the trip to Hawaii wasn't bonus enough?!

Congrats, Carol!
Melissa: I'm with Leslie--the trip wasn't bonus enough?!
One more book to go for this challenge, which I will be starting tomorrow. Just finished my "beach" read, and while I may not have read it while on a beach, I nearly finished it this evening while enjoying the first "Concert on the Square" of the season. Sigh...

I read it for the Hawaii setting, it wasn't one of my normal series that I follow.
Nearly done, so figured I might as well list my books.
June is Aquarium Month and the first week of June is Fishing Week and the 18th is Go Fishing Day: Read a book with a fishy title, someone goes fishing in the story . . .
The Nail Knot (Fly Fishing Mysteries) by John Galligan
June 13 is Sewing Machine Day: Read a book where someone is creative with a needle. Anything quilt related, Amish, etc.
Thread on Arrival by Amanda Lee (Embroidery Shop Mystery #5)
June 18 is International Panic Day: Read a book where someone panics.
Feels Like Home by Vicki Lewis Thompson (Two panic scenes, and no dead bodies were involved! The hero panicked opening chapter, heroine panic attack several chapters later.)
June 21 is Finally Summer Day — Summer Solstice: Choose a book that would qualify as a beach read. BONUS if you actually read a book on a beach!
Escape by Barbara Delinsky (Good "beach" read. Though I did not actually read it at a beach, I did read a good chunk of it at an outdoor concert series.)
June 28 is Paul Bunyan Day: In honor of his companion, Babe the Blue Ox, read a book with a blue cover.
Blue Heaven by C.J. Box (Blue cover and has "blue" in the title. Still reading this one, but hope to finish it over the weekend.)
