Good job. I have to get tough and tell the little buggers they are going to go to book heaven unread.

Maybe we should try picking each other's next reads. Then we'll be reading a book that at least one person liked and those books that have been looked over for a reason can continue sleeping undisturbed.

Oh, good idea! What do you suggest from this lot or this lot that I read next?
First off, read To Feel the Sun since it's only seven pages long. I haven't read it, but it's Marie Sexton and, you know, seven pages long. I'll read it too since it's free.
Then try Out of the Blue. You'll either love it or you'll hate it. Either way, I think it will give you something to chew on. Actually, maybe read this one first, because you're going to need something light and comforting after, and Marie Sexton is the warm, fuzzy blanket of comfort reads.

After those, I vote for The Argentine Seduction. It's short and sexy and a nice follow-up to the Chimera Affair. And if you're feeling a historical, there's always Tamara Allen. :)

I have book 2 on my kindle-lending shelf it you need it.

oh excellent, thank you. I shall launch into book 1 this week then.

I am down to one page of books on my Kindle! So the question now is, which one:
Restraint or
Transformation or

Transformation has 4 stars from Weasel. That's like...6 stars from most people. :)
That Schoolboy Sherlock fic looks awesome! (Just downloaded it.) I love the idea of them running around a school.
Restraint sooooooounds good. How are you with regency?

Have you read it? I initially thought it was kind of labored and slow (AND pretentious) so I put it in the DNF pile, but Lena loved it and gave it five stars. I thought maybe I should exhume it and try again. If you like regencies, you might enjoy it.

I haven't read it, but I do love regencies, but I wondered how long/down it was. I tend to like...not fluffy, but I dunno...light regency? Like, fun? I was wondering if it was very angsty, which is less fun. I should give it a try.

Expy is not to be trusted. He gave the Hearne book I just read 4 stars.

What am I? Expy?"
Heh! I do consider you up there with Expy (and Kate) for being a tough judge. :)

I agree--you always come off very fair (and not mean.) I always think of the smexy factor with Expy too since I know how much a good smut scene will elevate a book for him. :) (Kind of like me and m/m adventure romance. It has to really miss the mark for me not to be starry-eyed.) *_*

I have a 3.38 average, so on paper I am tougher than you, which is weird, because I think of you as being fair but discriminating, and me as being full of undeserved squee.

Like Weasel said, you read more AND you're way more likely to take a stab at a book that might sound good (or smexy) but may end up disappointing. (Which is helpful to us slackers since you warn us away!)

You don't rate your dnf's do you? You're pretty choosy about what you start and then, if it doesn't interest you, you don't spend much more effort on it.

Okay, the f'ing lonnnnggg Restraint it is.
Attempt #2 coming up.
Attempt #2 coming up.

Oh yeah, that's probably exactly what it is. And I hate DNFing, although I'm getting better at it, so I'll hate a book but force my way to the end anyway.

Hope you're in the mood for Restraint.....

Marlene, have you read that school days Sherlock fic that Kate linked above? It sounds great (but is 139k+ words, so if you have any thoughts about it...)

Whoa! That does sound porny! I might jump into the big one. Sinner's Gin is not pulling me in right now...

My kindle backlog is pretty small, but I these are the only ones I might actually read. Any suggestions?

Does that mean you bought three books? :-)
@Kate, any older books you're interested in? (Or are you looking at what's just come out and none of it is of interest?)

Everybody is cheating!! >:(
ttg: I've looked at old listopia's, new listopia's, sf, fantasy, thriller, mystery/suspense, m/m, everything. I've tried everything. I'm hopeless right now.

I haven't cheated yet. :) Still strong!
Anything on my kindle lending shelf? I have Widdershins (which everyone else loved more than me, but you may love it), and the YA reads The Cat in the Cradle (and its sequel From Darkness to Darkness) and Gives Light, I haven't read the sequel yet, but the other two were great reads IMO.

I'll look, thanks. But I have stuff I can read. I'm just planning my post-June wish list/book orgy and realizing I don't wish for anything.

Hmmm...in some ways not wishing for anything is good, but I see what you mean. It's fun to look forward to something.
